In reality, there are probably about 6-8 "proper" headline acts in the world. Everyone else has to make do.

Going to be all about the undercard this year, with the headliners that seem to be available.

Best case we get Blur as a headline I think.

Or Macca. Headlining Firefly in the States in June. This year's Neil Young perhaps? :-)

I think he'll be the Werchter Boutique act now that Coldplay is ruled out. According to Zégut (French radio DJ who often leaks trustworthy concert rumours) McCartney is playing Paris somewhere in June.

But Pukkelpop does often try to book one big act that makes their headliner trio stand out from those of Lowlands, R+L, Area 4, Frequency, ... I'm thinking of Neil Young, Eminem, Bjork, Foo Fighters (only European August fest in 2011), Iron Maiden in recent years. With Kanye West being in Europe at the end of July and Blur releasing a new album, I think we might get one more original headliner, next to the bland M&S/Linkin Park.

I notice U2 have a month long gap in their touring schedule before resuming in Italy on September 5th. They've sold out 2 shows in Antwerp for later in the year so that doesn't stop them being one of the surprise contenders I'd say.

Except that U2 costs as much as 3 great headliners.

Btw: Belle & Sebastian, Mark Lanegan, Jesus & Mary Chain and Kaiser Chiefs for Lokerse Feesten.

Thought J&MC were a strong possibility but I'm more concerned about the latest names announced for Dour. Quite a few potential Boiler, Castello and Dance Hall bands and DJs that are now less likely.

Guess they're not doing the video prediction thing from last year either as there's just over a week until we're probably going to get the first names. This must also be a new record for the least number of self-confirmations at this stage - one! Having said that, being one of the last festivals to announce means that between us we've probably named most of the bands who will feature.

fully expected Belle & Sebastian to be there tbh. Not fussed with any of the latest names from RW. Just really hope their headliner on Monday is M&S and not Blur.

This PP line up could throw anything up in my opinion.

I'm sure that RW is not going To announce Mumford on monday. No reason for not having announce them yet as other festivals have done.

It's logical that Blur is the most probable option for werchter: They announce BST as first festival, tickets For it went today on sale and For any contractual issue They cannot announce any festival until next week, so BST is sure To sell tons of tickets during these 3 days (myself was close buy a couple Of tickets For this and spend a nice june weekend in London).

So we must be realists and think that Mumford is close to be a reality for PKP 14 and Blur would be an unexpected curve ball

EDIT: Mumford have posted on Facebook: "news coming Monday" We can't lose hope of seeing them far from Hasselt in august

U2 2015 tour will be an only indoor gigs tour. No chance for any festival.

So, the overwhelming feeling on here is that Mumford and Dulls would be an awful choice for headline.

This is the festival's 30th anniversary, let's hope for something special.

All things seem to be pointing towards M&S being announced for RW and possibly Lollapalooza Berlin on Monday hopefully. I'll breathe a big sigh of relief if they are. Leaves the door open for someone good! Edited by DiscothequeDave

Hey all, checking back in here too. Not sure yet if this year will be a certainty though, we've been many in a row by now. Was really hoping for Chemical Bros but guess that's off the table. Lowlands has Interpol, could they be a headliner?

Dour just announced a bunch, including Snoop Dogg, Squarepusher, Dirtyphonics, Ed Rush, Andy C and one of the Kalkbrenners. So that narrows the Boiler/Dance Hall options down a bit further.

Obviously Mumford&S are announcing something about the new album or single on Monday. Definitely there's no reason to make a video preview to announce a concert.. They just posted pics for all the other festivals they're doing. That's why they won't do something different for Werchter. Same day, different announcements.

It's a new single and they are announcing lolla berlin, so rw is a possibility as well

I still think they'll be doing pukkelpop+sziget+rock en seine+frequency/highfield/rock'n'heim in august, because for them this would mean: so much money. don't think they'll be doing rw.

rw will share another act with glasto in my opinion, maybe blur

Cool article, with all the bands that are touring Europe in August. Pretty sure that most of the bands that will be in the 1st announcement, will be between these names:

http://www.99festivals.com/wat-mogen-we-verwachten-voor-pukkelpop-2015/

That doesn't fill me with great confidence of a decent line up. The only main suggestions on there that I'd be happy with are soulwax, Beck and Metallica. Metallica and Soulwax look unlikely as well.

A line up of M&S, the Libertines, Stromae, Offspring, Major Lazer and Linkin Park would have me looking at other festivals I'm afraid.
