Bestival 2015 headline guesses

Agreed - when's it usually all out? I'm sure it's by now. I'm going on holiday straight after and I want to know if I can b&gger off Sunday night if the likes of Kylie are playing and book an extra day on the beach!

I suspect the Muse announcement will come on 1st June if indeed they are also headlining Lollapalooza Berlin (who are announcing their Sunday headliner on that date).

I can't get into Hot Chip either. A few good tunes, but just don't really like them. Can't see them being big enough to be main stage headliner ever at bestival tbh. All the signs suggest Kylie, but then again, bestival are known to pull a few headliners out of nowhere that haven't been even remotely suggested

I really don't see why you would speculate as to how it could be a band who are too small to do it based on no actual information whatsoever, and then say how disappointed you would would be if they did it (even though you're the only person bringing it up).

That's because they're doing two German festivals the weekend directly before then rather than Muse announcing stuff that day. A similar scenario would be Muse being announced on 15th June after they've done Download.

Well, the placement of bands at German festivals bears little relevance but Hot Chip aren't headlining Lollapalooza anyway. It's Muse and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Hot Chip are like 3rd row of the poster. Could see them subbing Bestival though.

Except it's a totally different festival in a different country so it would really have very little bearing on a bands placement on a UK festival bill.

Oh & where have you seen that Hot Chip are headlining Lolla Berlin? Because as far as I can tell they aren't...

Certainly you have a point on the whole. I wasn't necessarily aware that Gibraltar was now a confirmed part of the UK and the quote there re Duran Duran definitely says UK festival exclusive.

A slightly stranger grey area is with proms in the park as its not really seen as a festival by many. I believe it's fairly short sets ahead of the live stream of the last night of the proms

Friday: Duran Duran may have been quietly bumped up to headliner. If Muse are headlining Lollapalooza Berlin though, that'll be their Sunday, meaning Muse is our Friday headliner.

Sunday: If not Muse then someone else. Kylie seems like a good bet, but that would give us a ridiculously good set of three, whereas there's always one weak link.

Its an odd one but the festival didn't claim on their site or posters they were, just Andy Copping saying they was on twitter. So maybe its out of respect for Download or its just been a last minute thing arranged..

Well RDB is doing a Sunday Best presents stage at the BST Kylie date so perhaps some sort of deal where by Kylie isn't announced for Bestival until afterwards would make sense.

I know the team have been busy with Common People and Bestival Toronto but it seems like Bestival UK has been put on the back burner. Hopefully we hear some news soon.

Yeah it's getting slightly ridiculous now, there hasn't been an announcement of note for ages & they still have two mainstage headliners (presumably) to announce with only 3 months left until the festival. I wonder what the ticket sales are looking like at this moment in time.

You was not impressed with the off site activities?! I've offten thought while getting hammered at a festival, what would improve it , is to go off site and do a bit Kayaking.

No, it sounds more like a Duke of Edinburgh award task list than a festival line up to be honest.

I didn't enjoy that sort of testosterone fueled bollocks at school when it was free, I certainly don't want to pay £200+ for the privilege.
