Nas would be a welcome addition to the UK line up.

Florence can bugger off. I doubt RDB would rebook her so soon & especially not as Chemical Brothers are already a 'repeat' headliner & apparently Bestival's first repeat headliner ever (though I thought Fat Boy Slim was in 2013)

Fatboy Slim had never headlined the main stage before, even though the press release said he'd headlined the first ever Bestival. He did play the main stage at the first ever Bestival, but not as a headliner.

Portishead were never going to happen, if RDB had been serious about them he should have nabbed them last year when they headlined Electric Picnic instead of rebooking bloody Chic.

The Strokes are exclusive to BST.

& as much as the rumours seem to be pointing towards her, I can't see it being Florence again so soon.

I'm still thinking Kylie will headline, she'll probably be announced after her Hyde Park date has been given enough time to sell.

Florence just three years after her last appearance would be an odd booking for a festival that doesn't much like repeat bookings. i don't see it, although i can't think where else this 'only UK festival appearance' could be. where else hasn't announced yet other than Bestival and Glastonbury (where she's been ruled out of headlining)

edit: forgot about BST. probably that

Glasgow Summer Sessions as well.

Highly doubt she's put in a UK exclusive performance up in Scotland.

Seems an odd booking for Bestival but a lot of the signs do point to it. Mailing list e-mail sent out today says more live news soon so I'm sure we'll find out in the next week or so.

I doubt Florence is big enough to headline BST, but there's nothing stopping her from appearing on a BST bill, or at Glastonbury (not a Pyramid headliner though), or indeed headlining Bestival's Big Top.

you're massively underestimating her size. if she were to appear at a BST gig, it'd be as a headliner, and if she were to play Bestival it'd DEFINITELY be as a headliner (and the same could most probably be said for Glastonbury too)

the only benefit it'd have for Bestival is that they'd have her on a festival exclusive (which is a pretty big benefit i'll say that), but another repeat headliner, just three years later seems very unlike their booking policy thus far. but i hope you're right because yeah... if not Bestival, it's Glastonbury, and Emily could well have been telling porkies (she was asked directly about Florence wasn't she? somewhat back against a wall?)

edit: just looked back at the interview and she wasn't asked at all - she brought her up, so maybe Bestival it is

and yet we know she's headlining just one UK festival, the only two possibilities left are Glasto and Bestival, and Emily says she's not headling Glasto.

I can't see how she'll not be at Bestival.

What about BST? & technically the quote said she'll be playing 1 festival in the UK, which she already is: Radio 1's Big Weekend.

Anyway, care to have a little charitable wager on whether or not she headlines Bestival?

Bestival needed an act to launch Bestival Canada tho - and as Flo is doing that, a double-deal tie-up for the UK would make perfect sense. They need to be sure that Bestival UK has a financially-satisfactory year because of the big risk with a new event in Canada, and they need to reduce the risks of that new event in Canada by having an act who will help it sell.

To me, that makes perfect sense. Add in that's there's not another fest she could be headlining, and it's got to be nailed on, I'd say.

I've got reason to believe she's not doing BST.

And if it was Big Weekend Melvin, etc, have been on about, they probably would have named that as it's been announced.

yeah after the 'disaster' headliner bookings of Fatboy Slim and Chic maybe RDB has decided it's better to have three big selling names up top who've done it before rather than booking any old act because the pool has run dry. would definitely make sense with the Canada fest as well. if true i just hope the third headliner is someone special
