If tis was a woman saying to a man

'you've been out of order today, you know what you've done'.

It's a nice guilt trip, but not particularly constructive if what he thinks he's done isn't what you want him to correct. Or if the argument just goes round and round with no real content and no progression. :)

'you've been out of order today, you know what you've done'.

But that's not what I did, was it?

I said go and read your own words, to see what you've written.

I haven't given you a puzzle, I've pointed you at the evidence.

If you don't wish to consider the evidence that's fair enough, but don't then invent the evidence.

If you don't wish to consider the evidence that's fair enough, but don't then try and lay the fault of your own inaction back on me.

ok cool you go reread your own words then, ~I'm satisfied that I've not done anything amiss.

Well I was hoping you'd narrow it down a bit

you're so satisfied that you've done nothing amiss, you gave me an apology ....?

FFS.

You do wrong. You apologise. Then you and the guy you've blow kisses at round up on me, where you claim to have done nothing wrong.

I draw your attention to the title of this thread, one you yourself created.

Ah. I think there's been a genuine misunderstanding here. When I started this thread, I was referring to what happened to bunique and me, and the girls in the article tony linked to - not our spat.

I think at one point I actually referred to it as bullying. I've always thought of it as a form of bullying, rape is to do with dominance rather than sex.

So, rather than thinking of it in terms of men dominating women, I tend to think of it as a particular person using whatever's to hand to dominate another.

Now, that could be the use of sex as a weapon, but, to me, a woman's sexuality can be used to beat her over the head with by anyone, both men and women.

You can pressure her into being pure and respectable, you can pressure her into being available.

You can then subsume all of it under patriarchy. But the main issue, for me, is that one person is trying to screw with someone else's rights to their own body.

And it's nobody else's business what someone does with their own body, as long as they're not hurting someone.

I did read through the first day (Friday) that you reckoned was the day that I should retract, and all I could see in there was me saying I wasn't bothered by Page 3, and men could be seen to be demeaned by it as much as women. I don't see anything wrong with that.
