Thought I posted another reply about this but perhaps not. Anyway, Boomtown replied to my email and said a small stove is fine :D

Good stuff, that woulda been bonkers.

Starting to get packed here... I have a silly number of glowsticks, if you see me on any evening ask for one. Very excited

St Lewi cheers for the links :D

I was going to come on in a tizzy about how awful Netweather's forecast was for Thursday, but since this morning they've done a complete volte-face and now it's looking fine again.

Moral of the story? Don't be a pranny about the weather a week in advance. Have a look on Wednesday and stop worrying about it.

I'm resisting posting about the weather until this evening's run is in at half sixish

"chance of mildly squiffy" will be the headline which is a lot better than it could albeit not perfect sun. Slightly squiffy often better, bit of cloud, less sunburn and a quick shower or two to keep people on their feet

Berocca + Diarolyte + sports hydration tablet (Zero/Nuun) is a good hangover potion. All three in the same cup and a load of water, then whatever painkillers needed for a headache. Worked quite well at Glastonbury

Poo -topia may have been where I spent my pounds. It was the ones where the poor woman was found hanged last year. I think that it was an open verdict, but I know that I managed to get myself tangled up with the long chain attached to the door when I used it during the day. At night with a combination of substances, darkness and a slippery floor could have led to a tragic accident.

The chains worried me a bit too.

But yeah just gotta work out their cleaning schedule at worst, but it is doable and not have them end up horrible as glasto shows.

The key thing is avoiding the late evening OMG rush.... that's when you plump for somewhere unwise

BTN Weather update: Chance of squiffyness

Sadly after many hints of a completely dry festival it's looking like there'll be a good chance of getting some rain during the festival. Based on the GFS pressure is forecast to dip as we head up to it bringing some showers next week around the 11th then a slight risk of storms at the weekend but I must stress it's slight at the moment so likely to be brief if they happen and there's a lot of uncertainty.

The ECMWF seems to support the driers scenarios

Basically mixed reports but nothing to be scared of, which will do nicely.

Wrote this an hour and a half ago and never clicked post DOH.

Haha, yea, not pitching in any nettles this year!

This trenchtown playlist is pretty great! And old town camping looks pretty close too.

Excited for Mungo's Hifi /w Charlie P. First saw mungo's last year at glasto and blew my mind, got me into the whole dub, reggae, dancehall thing. Charlie's pretty soulful, used to sing motown.

Is the big aztec temple thing the only stage in trenchtown? Would be cool if there were some more intimate venues

Tangled Roots and Hidden Woods are also in TrenchTown. And from looking at some of the other Inner City mini-venues, there's reggae acts and DJs dotted around all over the place!

Mungo's Hi-Fi are also on in the ASBO Disco, whatever that is. No idea what day or time. Probably Saturday night after their Lion's Den set.

Hi all

Are the dogs on the gates all day open to close at 10? Most festivals I have been too they are only generally there at peak times and gone later in the day but heard boomtown is a right pain in the arse for sniffers!? Hampshire police making the most of resources. Cheers

Does anybody know if Mungo's are bringing their sound system? If not, it's absolutely ESSENTIAL to see them on the stage with the best sound set-up. They always take their set-up to Glasto and the other Scottish festivals, but worried they may not take it to Boomtown?
