Just booked this seeing as my plans to go to Reading fell through. Can't wait for this though, great value all being well.

Just in regards to set lengths and someone mentioning a page or two back that headliners only got an hour last time round, worth noting the Saturday has one less act on the main stage than the Sunday. Either everyones got an extended time on Saturday or they've got some sort of secret set lined up...

I wouldn't get your hopes up for a secret set. It doesn't make much sense to have one in my opinion as the festival is still quite new and establishing itself. 

 

Either way I've heard that the line up times will be out soon which should answer a few questions.

Can't imagine Flaming Lips only doing an hour...normally takes Wayne Coyne at least 15 minutes to get out that bloody big hamster ball (assuming we get the full stage show).  Last year '2manyDJ's did a set after 'Seasick Steve'

In terms of sets, there are two less main stage bands on the Saturday and one less on the Sunday than last year, so I imagine longer sets are being dished out (the stage also starts slightly earlier) 

 

Hopefully F Lips get 90 mins and  Primal Scream + Peter Hook around 60mins(ish)

Just loads and loads of clashes! Fratellis and Subways (I want Subways, my missus Fratellis, so that'll be me watching the Fratellis then). Mystery Jets and Primals. Super Furrys and Johnny Marr. Plus Cast finishes the same time as We Are Scientists start so either gonna have to miss the end of the former or the start of the latter. 

Can't believe the headliners have only got an hour. Mental. 

 

But as you say, £25 a day so can't complain. Hopefully everybody will just do a greatest hits set (except for Primals, who will do b-sides from singles on an album nobody bought just to be 'edgy')

The 'Common Stage' and 'Castle Stage' headliners directly clash, both doing 21:45 to 22:45.

Cheers for that Matt! Although I wonder if they're wrong hence bringing them back off the website? As people have said Primal/Super Fury's getting 50 mins as Subs seems short. but who knows, more likely got a deal with a paper where they're supposed to release them in or something.

Edit: Gutted We Are Scientists only get 30 mins.

Only an hour for a band like The Flaming Lips! I had seen that coming as it seems like it's what they've done in the past but it does seem like a really poor choice. Sort it out bookers!

Seems unlikely. Not sure how it works with the bigger bands. Would they charge by the minute?? Not like the Flaming Lips can nip off and do another gig later. Would have thought they would prefer to do a decent sized set after moving all their equipment down to Portsmouth

 

If anything shorter sets would mean they'd have to pay more bands to play I would have thought.

Yeah I've not got a clue either. I thought it'd be a rate based on an hour and then you pay per extra half hour or something like that? But I'm not sure at all. If anyone could shine light on this just in general festival terms to that'd be really interesting.
