I was being sarcastic Gazza. How do we know he isn't going to be back in America by the time T rolls around? How do we know he doesn't look at T and think it looks shite so doesn't want to play? How do we know they won't offer him the money he wants to play, and that he's accepted lower from Glastonbury because he knows the other added benefits that come with playing it? How do we know T don't think Kasabian/Libs/Noel fit their demographic better?

Please reply to these points rather than ignoring them like you did when I asked you to clarify how it was "comedy" when I said Latitude is more likely to lose day ticket sales to a top 2 of Mumford/alt-J than Eminem/Chase and Status :)

I don't know whether this is more annoying or Matt42 talking about IOW's Saturday headliner.

Personally I reckon Kanye is as popular with the Reading crowd as Eminem is- which is something I believe Gazza himself predicted.

I didn't predict really lol, I mentioned I think it could happen but after someone else said something about his album which I openly admitted! Turn that into what you want, I'm not bothered! Most of the reason I stayed away is because normal conversations don't go on on here anymore and I can't be blamed for the Kanye flaming, I wasn't alone!

I based T on generally, not just this year! How do I know?, cause he looks at Wireless and still wants to play it lmao. I would imagine T do think booking them 3 is better?, but you not heard the words about T being the Scottish V!, the only other fest that should be looking him here.

Either way on the Kanye shit, it's ain't changing, it's a god awful booking, hands down the worst in recent history, end of!

I did reply to your comment, saying it was comedy was all that was needed! A twice over Wembley Stadium seller as apposed to not, what more do you need. C&S didn't exactly have a small crowd did they?!

Except it isn't "end of". Your closed mindedness comes across with shite like that, but like it or not, Kanye West is a big name with a very diverse fanbase who is a good booking for pretty much any UK festival. Whether every UK festival would go for him is another matter, but I can't see any argument against them doing so, other than your very basic "he's shit lol" and you don't appear to be offering much to the contrary.

Why does playing Wireless mean T don't want him? Avicii is headlining both.

I don't really understand how you can't see that you're one of about 3 people on this forum saying it's an awful booking, and all the people saying so are people who are ridiculed daily on here for their opinions on festivals, whilst nigh on every poster with respected opinions is saying it's a good booking, even if they don't like him. I'm not going to get into a discussion with you about the merits of the booking because you evidently can't consider them properly.

No you didn't reply to my comment asking you to clarify, which is what I said. Regardless of size, I'm sure the people of Latitude are more likely to buy tickets for Mumford/alt-J than Eminem/Chase and Status. Do you also think a top two of Metallica/Black Stone Cherry would take more ticket sales? And in any case, I didn't even say that was the reason, I merely offered it as a suggestion because, as usual, you were getting lost in thinking your thoughts on festivals are definitely correct whilst disregarding any relevant information thrown at you. Funnily enough this is exactly what's happening now.

I'm not even a Kanye fan really, but your opposition to the booking is laughable.

My opinion, I'm allowed one. I don't think I have said yours is wrong?. A lot more than 3 people were like WTF, regardless of their extended opinion on it and to be fair, last night just showed that it's in the minority what actual buyers think on here. There are a few hundred on here,

Why is it close mindedness? To have an opinion on one particular artist and say it's a shocking booking along with 80+ % of social media last night does not say it's a close minded conclusion. The result was pretty emphatic!

I've explained more than "he's shit" before. I don't like him, he's the worst individual in the music business today, possibly even more so that the purple one (own opinions), he has a bigger ego than Bono probably and that's certainly not justified and the only thing festival day I know of him doing anything well for in the UK was solely and R&B/Rap/Hip-Hop day, that strangely enough looks like it could be a mini V Fest!

I definitely counted right.

Neil

Scottie.

Noone else.

Wait, respected opinions or confidence in their info? Because on Neil's opinions, lol nope. And on their info, luckysalt's up there with them these days, frankly.

I was actually thinking earlier today, how many major festival headliners have actually (correctly) been TBC on the rumours page before their official announcement this year? Libertines? Possibly Kasabian at T? I probably haven't been keeping track enough to be spouting off, but whatever.

Haha, fair enough! It does seem like it's been harder for you and Scottie this year, though? People just getting better at keeping schtum?

we've done as well or better than the norm with the headliners this year, tho not for Glasto. We've done far less well on other lower bands all-round.

But this sort of stuff has always come and gone, and moved around from one fest to another, just by the nature of things. So hopefully next year will be better.

Often, people accuse efests of making up our rumours out of nothing (tho miraculously nearly all TBC's turn out to be right). And then the same people seem to criticise if we're not hearing so much, as tho we can just make it up when we fancy.

We'll continue to go with what he hear, and if we hear a bit less some years that's how it goes.

Makes sense. Fingers crossed for next year eh!

Interesting on the lack of undercard info - just off the top of my head, it occurs to me that festivals seem to be making a bigger deal out of exclusives on bands below the headliners in recent years? Reading shoving any exclusive tag they can come up with on anyone they can, Green Man announcing Courtney Barnett as an 'exclusive', Goat at Latitude last year, etc - organisers are starting to apply the same booking policies, and secrecy, to the undercard as well as headliners? Just a thought, probably complete bollocks.
