#FreeComTruise
Remind me when Paramore, QOTSA and Arctic Monkeys released their albums before playing in 2014, Matt.
kingcrawler
There's not anything to suggest Foals album will definitely come before 2016 is there?
#FreeComTruise
There's not anything to suggest Foals album will definitely come before 2016 is there? Nothing concrete no, there's an article that says they wanted to get it recorded early 2015, so you'd think that they'd be able to get it out before the end of the year if that's the case, but could easily leave it til early 2016. Not that any of it matters anyway, all three of those acts will have new material since the last time they played. Not sure why there should be an act to have released new material the year they headline?
tyranicide
I don't think muse will headline next year, doing a bunch of fest's this year so will probably do stadiums again next summer. I think Foos will be back to finish of the album cycle. I think Florence ATM will step up to headline. And I reckon Slipknot could headline too. tyranicide
I know its way too early for 2017, but I think then we could get something like Royal Blood Biffy Clyro Kasabian
#FreeComTruise
Agree on Muse, but Foos usually tour for a while don't they? Could see the end of their tour cycle coming in 2017. I know its way too early for 2017, but I think then we could get something like Royal Blood Biffy Clyro Kasabian If Biffy do Glasto next year, I could see them doing Download in 2017, or maybe a few big gigs of their own. Seems a bit too soon for them. Kasabian are possible if they're not still on a break then. If they take a break next year and release a new album before the 2017 fest or something. I think it's still a bit early to judge whether Royal Blood will retain the hype, I personally don't think they'll end up headlining, but I wouldn't be adverse to being proved wrong

I agree about Kasabian, they should have something out by 2017 and it would just be between R&L and IOW really, though I suppose they did say they wanted to do stadiums. Andre91
Slipknot, Foals & Foo Fighters. Jesus, guessing 2017 already ? Sod it. Royal Blood, Arcade Fire & System Of A Down. Edited April 9, 2015 by Andre91

I reckon Peace have the most potential to be a future headliner out of all the bands that are R&L favourites but are far too small to headline at the moment. All they'd need is another two albums as good as the first two (and with as many radio-friendly singles as these two) and then they'd be a very successful headliner. Maybe one for 2018/2019. It would have been stadiums or festivals for them this year. Dissapointed they chose to go for festivals yet again tbh. Can't see them ever doing stadium now unfortunately. That's short In seriousness, I thought their tours usually lasted like 3 years but I must just be wrong there. Yeah Kasabian may potentially move up to to doing stadiums. Same with Biffy. I'd have agreed about Peace but they're not moving up the lineup as fast as I expected. Genuinely thought they would headline NME this year, but they could be a slow burner, and we're all a bit keen on shoving bands up quickly eh. I'm not sure I can see Biffy ever doing stadiums, maybe Hyde Park or something at a push but I'm not sure they've quite got the pull for a stadium. Yeah I am surprised that they aren't higher up this year as well. I guess the new album hasn't taken off as much as it really should've (despite the fact that it's great), so that probably affected their placing a bit. I'm not sure I can see Biffy ever doing stadiums, maybe Hyde Park or something at a push but I'm not sure they've quite got the pull for a stadium. Agreed. As much as it'd be immense to see them at Wembley, I reckon BST Hyde Park 2016 or 17 will be the biggest show the Biff will play in the near future. I can see them doing Glasgow Summer Sessions next summer as it will be too soon for them to play TITP again. Not entirely sure what the capacity is for it, around 30000 I think, but they could probably do an alright job at selling that.

Kasabian have said they wanna do Murrayfield, so I'd be surprised if they could pull that off but not Biffy. There'd be plenty of non-Scots who'd make the trip up as well I'm sure (me ) Kasabian would probably have more ease doing English stadiums though. We'll have to see how Biffy's next album does, which should be out in advance of their highly rumoured Glasto 2016 slot. Could really give them another massive boost in popularity. JSmurphy
2017 is Daft Punk's year but more realistically I'd go for RHCP / Florence / Muse or Foos next year and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds / Kasabian / Royal Blood in 2017. conroy17
I'd pin down Kasabian and Royal Blood for 2017 couldn't see Biffy returning so soon; and it'll probably be a non-British act anyway. This does present a lot of worst-case-scenarios - Imagine Dragons? The Killers? Paramore; headlining in their own rights? The untimely return of Linkin Park? Or it could be Arcade Fire or someone good like that in which case fairplay.

TheSilence
I reckon Paramore will be the next big band to break up EDIT: Speaking of which, wasn't there a thread for predicting bands to break up? I can't find it so maybe I imagined it Edited April 9, 2015 by TheSilence
