IF they do a secret set it'll probably only be at Reading anyway, can't remember the last time Leeds had a big secret set. 

What sort of time are people expecting the "secret set" to be on? Surely they can't be first thing on the Friday to clash with Frank Turner in a special guest slot.

Frank is playing at Reading on Friday and Leeds on Saturday. With the lineup rotation the only days Catfish could feasibly play would be Leeds Friday and Reading Sunday.

Kaiser Chiefs played Leeds only. 

Them Crooked Vultures played Leeds before Reading.

Green Day played Reading only but that was because they were busy playing France and Russia. 

Jamie T played Reading only. 

Leeds has bands playing Thursday night every year and has had the likes of Chase and Status, Pendulum DJ the Relentless Stage before they got big. 

Going further back Guns n Roses headlined at Leeds only.  

There isn't a preference for Reading, it's just circumstance and timing.

Looking at the 2016 map it looks like they've moved the silent arena in orange camp at Reading to where the orange gate used to be which pretty much confirms the gate will be closed again this year.

Foo Fighters were supposed to play Reading that same year but pulled out for some reason, so that would've been strongly in Reading's favour if true. Reading definitely gets the better end of the stick most of the time concerning secret acts, although as you say, Leeds has the Thursday acts yearly which is always nice

Has anyone listened to in the name of the wee man off biffys new album? I know most people on here weren't a fan of ellipsis, I'm not massively either but think this is one of the best tunes they've done in ages.

Looks to have a place on their set lists too which is weird considering its a bonus track but fingers crossed itl be played at Leeds

Yeah good point about that! 

And bands are always saying that the crowds at Leeds are better than the ones at Reading.....im sure they never say that at Reading about Leeds!

I knew that Leeds had the bands on the Thursday and I assumed that was one of the reasons Reading had the secret sets. Also I'm assuming one of the big reason bands do secret sets (apart from the money obviously) is publicity, so because Reading is the one that's televised i thought maybe that's why they got the bigger secret sets also.

A bulk of the press attend Reading over Leeds, so that probably sways decisions.

Just a thought. Catfish played a secret set at Glastonbury. Just putting it out there. Not saying that they're going to play a secret set at reading. (No abuse)

Chances of Shikari being the secret set? I know they said they weren't around on a Facebook comment but maybe they were just flat out lying? It did seem a little "too" blunt to me

That sucks if Reading get Gnarwolves, Shikari Sound System and Dan P Carter and Leeds doesn't. I'd take that over the Relentless Lineup any night.

Pretty sure its gonna be in the silent arena as the main arena does't open until friday and the poster says there will be acts on the Thursday.
