Bloody Razorlight headlined.

A bit more successful than Imagine Dragons were at this stage admittedly.

Still not seen an actual good reason why they shouldn't though. Anyone got an actual reason other than consistently naming another band who they got compared to?

They have no excitement surrounding them and less than a handful of hit singles; if one of their albums had been received in the way that say, To Pimp a Butterfly, Hot Fuss or Whatever People Say I Am... had been then there'd be no doubt, instead Imagine Dragons have released two well-selling pop albums that have left no impression on youth culture or the cultural landscape as a whole. At least when Razorlight headlined they had several incredibly popular songs and were part of a movement which despite being terribly shallow was a sweeping element of youth culture at the time.

The big issue with booking an act like Imagine Dragons to headline is when you book on the poppier side of the spectrum you can easily be trumped by a rival bringing over Foo Fighters/The Killers/Taylor Swift as that pop audience holds no strong allegiance and will see the bigger name. The reason that R&L can get away with putting Biffy/QotSA in headline slots is because they have dedicated fanbases and people who will travel to see their career-defining performances; I can't see that happening with Imagine Dragons, Bastille, Clean Bandit or any other act R&L books that veers closer to pop than rock

See above for not such a pish argument.

TSSF's next tour will be 1k - 2k cap venues, the people who go to slam dunk love pop punk and therefore TSSF are one of the biggest bands in the genre whereas at Leeds its more of a general rock crowd so therefore Tonight Alive have more draw. Its hard to explain but yeah they'd deffo be higher imo

What? TSSF are nowhere near the top of the pop-punk genre. Blink-182, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, You Me At Six, All Time Low are the top, then you've got the mid-level bands like New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Bowling For Soup, All-American Rejects... then the smaller/up-and-coming acts like TSSF, Neck Deep, Four Year Strong.

Also, this was Tonight Alive's last tour:

Already selling out 1k+ size venues six months ago, and with their momentum and a new album coming they'll probably be doing even bigger places next year.

ABC is certainly a decent venue to sell out.

Oh, and making an argument "sans-evidence" is a pish argument when I asked for said evidence over and over again. At least RAI actually managed to put together a coherent argument, whereas your own argument was based on them being shite. There is absolutely no comparison between your own and RAI's posts on it.

Imagine Dragons should like totally headline cos they've got a great song and it was on that "the 100" TV season 1 and everything. Playing halfway down NME last time is irrelevant. Bands should get picked to headline if their one song is good enough. Also tonight alive should probably headline too cos they have got a totally great song and it was on spiderman and everything. Plus I have rude dreams about the singer and have to hide my PJs in the morning. It's normally dried out and gone crusty by the next night so that's ok.

I don't like them nor their one song. I am just reasonable enough to accept bands of a certain stature can headline despite me not liking them.

Your opinion seems to be a band you like more should be higher, much like your Neck Deep being bigger than Lonely The Brave argument that everybody disagreed with you on.

I asked that question to a lot of other people and they all said Neck Deep were bigger.

Neck Deep played bigger venues on the last tour and sold them out. Lonely The Brave were playing 250-500 cap venues and some of them didn't come close to selling out.

Neck Deep are genuinely bigger than LTB and I believe that, I'm a fan of both bands.

Also I'm a huge fan of Tonight Alive, I prefer them to TSSF however TSSF would come above them on Slam Dunk, no question about it, within that niche of people TSSF have a bigger following, in the general mainstream Tonight Alive are more marketable and have a more mainstream sound so would appeal better to that crowd

Trust me, if Lonely The Brave were to play Slam Dunk this year, they'd be below Neck Deep. For sure. Again its probably because they have a more mainstream sound and reach that they are above them.

Everything I knew about you has been a lie

But I've got to say two things, one Tonight Alive suit Slam Dunk anyway so they would be above them anyway with just being that and if it was booked the way you say it is then why are Neck Deep playing so low on the main this year at Slam Dunk. Secondly, why are we talking about Slam Dunk 2016 on in R&L section
