You know it's only the VERY high up seats at the O2 that still haven't sold out?, and I'm sure it's a along the same line for the MEN with their structure.

If you knew there were tickets left why did you claim they've sold out the 02?

I agree somewhat on Foals, like I don't think they're quite there yet but as the album is coming out in August that could easily push them to headliners by August next year. Realistically I think you'll have either Flo or FOALS, I don't think we'll get two new headliners.

In before someone says mumfords and libs were new, Mumfords headlined Glasto, anyone who is big enough to headline Glasto, can headline Leeds, therefore they'd already reached headliner status

Talking of Foals, they've just announced intimate shows in Europe for the beginning of September, so I guess there will probably be some UK news for similar venues soonish.

Might announce tonight after the single debuts on R1? Yannis is dropping in on Annie Mac's show to chat so would be a decent opportunity. Somebody start a Foals thread but not me because I hate people who start threads.

I claimed they'd basically sold out two nights far the very top seating which they have, I don't even thing the 1st date has any seating left. Either way, for a band like Imagine Dragons standing will be the main point and from what I've seen that's gone on both, it's impressive at £44 a ticket.

  No you didn't:

Ah so I did, but then who wants to sit down anyway, unless it's £135 for Macca lol. Not going to lie when I say it's sold out at somewhere like the o2, I generally mean bar the seating where they'll look the size of a microphone lol.

Either way, Imagine Dragons at this moment in my opinion have higher chance than Foals. Should we get that bigger tour announced, that might change.

I am surprised Flo hasn't sold more tickets though, I thought all of those standing at least at Ally Pally would be snapped up. At this point, going by seetickets, there is only two for the standing sold out.

Yeah I think you might be right.

Not sure I can be bothered starting a thread though? :P

Hypothetically, can you still see Foals headlining if this album underperforms?

I agree with most on this board, the years difference will do a great help. If they headline in 2016 by then the crowd will know a fair bit of the new material pretty well. It'l make the headline position (if it happens) appear stronger.

If the album underperforms then they presumably won't headline. But the expectation for many people on here at least is that this album will be just as successful as its predecessors and therefore they'll be able to make the step up to headlining act..

I know that. But they still haven't sold out. It was said they sold out both nights. They haven't.

The 1st date has more seating than the second left. They're not "basically" sold out. Because they're not sold out. If you're going to claim utter bullshit, at least try and check first.

You can't even buy a ticket for the 1st date on seetickets. I have only mentioned seetickets, I didn't check the main o2 arena website to be fair. I'm not trying to make up bullshit at all. I don't actually 'care' if they've sold out or not to be honest lol.

If they are headlining they could have already been booked, especially if FR want to make it an exclusive but they may have terms in their contract over the success of the album but I doubt it. (I don't know how these things work)

I was set on it being Slipknot - Foo Fighters - Florence but I'm starting to ponder the idea of Slipknot - Foals - Florence if Glasto decide they wanna bring Foos back in 2016 (like U2 ugm). Can't see the second one happening just because it's three 'first time headlining R&L' headliners. It's all up in the air now anyway.

I'm not so sure the foos would have been booked already anyway. Booked for a show next august? That's ages away... i'm sure they wouldn't sign the dotted line till November at the earliest?

Starting to think they'l probably not do R&L next year then, only if melvin doesn't mind sharing a headliner with Glastonbury.

Florence headlining 2016 is starting to look a lot less weaker now ain't it?

Oh it'll be fairly certain now, with that added media coverage from her set and she will impress many people. T is nailed on, I'd put £50 on it if I could right now, it'll then be out of IOW and R&L depending on when she wants to be here. There are dates in Europe this year early and later so it's difficult to what she'd do.

Headliners are booked really early on though for 2014 two out of the year were booked by October and for this year at least one headliner had already been booked at the end of the festival.

I wouldn't automatically say that, there has been cases like Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and Primal Scream who have headlined Glasto and sub at R&L in the same time frame or a like for like example with Flo, Ash who were a last min replacemenmt for Glasto but never headline R&L in all the times they have played.
