Got a fiver that says they don't.

I do find it odd now how long it's been without even presale tickets. I reckon he has a fair decent trio of headliners to confirm.

I also don't think he'd bother getting Maiden unless he can get them next year. Yes they are a big band but they don't sell quite like they used to, there will be plenty that will not bother with Download and wait for a tour of their own anyway.

Well I don't think people were predicting Maiden much until they went up on the rumour page so not really.

Are you joking? There has been a fair few, myself included and a generous collection away from here on the Download boards that expected them right from when their touring plans info hit their website and we were aware of a Europe tour from end of May.

The rumors page just adds to it.

They were added to the rumour page the day that the tour plan was announced. Your last prediction before that was Blink, SOAD and Sabbath. What you're basically doing is reading something and then saying "I knew it all along!"

Ah shit, it was sabbath that was new wasn't it. Either way, it's still been a fair few days since that went up and I didn't seen to see it as a rumor to think it would happen.

I did think them 3 yes but in fairness we didn't know about a Maiden tour then and not much has been said about Blink. There has been a fair bit of time since then for things to change.

Naturally I wouldn't attend for the weekend, Saturday would by far me the best day for me there but with no headliner it'd be no ticket. I expect a Sabbath day to be far from what bothers me to be honest.

I will murder you with an axe, set fire to your lifeless body and then w*nk into the flames for having that Limp Bizkit and Sabbath clash.

Also, BMTH will not headline at least until 2017. They shouldn't be there at all though.

Would Iron Maiden still have the thing whereby nobody's allowed to do second stage at the same time or was that something to do with a DVD they had for that tour?

Also that man again, Zegut, has hinted Sabbath will do Hellfest so that'll probably steal them from Download France. Would imagine they'd still be fine for the UK leg unless they're booking acts for both sites only, which is doubtful. I wonder how they'll get on having different and strong enough headliners for Hellfest and Download FR in such a short timespan.

Bit presumptuous to assume sabbath are playing Donington.

I didn't write like I had assumed they were playing Download at all, just that they'd still be in the running.

If you're meaning that they might play Sonisphere if that goes ahead, then I would strongly disagree with that. There's no way the management are gonna risk shows on the last tour seeing if a festival does or doesn't go ahead.

Even if Sonisphere was a ongoing strong brand here, there is still no way at all that they'd get them over Download.

metalicbear is clinging onto hope that isn't there I think. Basically if Download get Sabbath and Maiden then Soni won't have anything to go on as they probably needed Maiden to have a chance of it happening as it sounds like Rammestein aren't a go.

Not true at all, there's plenty of bands out there who are big enough to play.

If download had both Maiden and Sabbath, who would the 3rd headliner be - BMTH or SOAD, both of which are playing festivals next Summer. Foo's and Muse are doing festivals, there's been rumours of AC/DC, as I said earlier Sonisphere are heavily rumoured to have Slipknot, they had Def Leppard in the bag last year, perhaps try might approach them again, there's the nagging TOOL situation, will they/won't they, GnR reunion, plus lots of other bands who could tour or have worked with SG in the past such as RHCP.

BMTH's album is on course to be number 1 tonight, not that that was ever in doubt, the amount of pre-orders alone secured that for them. They're also currently number 1 in 8 countries, and four hours ago they were number 3 in the USA too.

I've said it before, but if Download haven't got them booked to headline next year, with all of this success and hype surrounding them at the moment, then they are stupid. There is no other word for it.

Let them get the number 1 album, and announce them next week as the first headliner for 2016. That's what I would do, anyway :P

Foo's and Muse won't be touching Sonisphere, not a chance! Slipknot aren't even touring next year, they've confirmed a break themselves. Dep Leppard isn't going to help the festival sell against Sabbath, Maiden and BMTH/SOAD. If Tool were available, Andy would be snapping them up and a GNR reunion. It's a lot of hope and nothing else.
