Suggestion for V Festival 2015 - 20th Anniversary Arena

Maybe its time for V festival to introduce an old skool arena and have classic V bands on like Supergrass, Cast, the charlatans, Texas etc etc. Would that go down well with the vets?

At least do it as part of the 20th Anniversary edition.

When you look at the way the festival has changed over the years, it's no wonder some vets are annoyed. We've had the new band stage, time for an old skool arena!

I bet it would be very popular.

Not like the new bands tent gets many people in there, if the only point to it sticking around is to try and make V out to be a more 'credible' festival then it's being totally undermined by the rest of the booking policy so they might as well sack it off in favour of something that would get more punters through the door.

Your mentioning bands that still sell a fair few albums and play decent sized venues like acadamy size.

They have 80s festivals and they have the shiiine weekender with the early 90s bands

Can't be to long before a 90s brit pop era festival will take off. Having thousands of folks in there 30s/40s singing songs from there teenage years would be a funny sight.

Also Kendal Calling seems to bridge the gap what you are after.

Still would go though.

90's Brit Pop festival - I'd be there in a heartbeat !

Why is it a funny sight to see 'thousands of 30's and 40's singing songs from their teenage years' ? We can still sing (badly) - and still enjoy music, not time to hang up my festival boots quite yet !

Nice idea. Glastonbury already does a nod to this on the Thursday evening of the festival when the Baggie Mondays play a DJ set of 90s indie tunes in the Park area of the festival - alway a few thousand there

And yes even us 40 something's dance (and are unable to walk for the next 3 days of the festival)
