For the last time, an act simply cannot call themselves Bishop Briggs.

Was just thinking that, makes me chuckle every time. Sure there's a band out there called Bear's Den which always gets me too.

Its called  car camping for a reason. You get a spot 12 x 30 feet and fit as many people as you can for only $125. We obviously are allowed to use canopys. Although last night it rained. Im not kidding. And the winds blew some away. Video below. There is also tent only camping and the glamping options of lake el dorado a tipi field plus safari as i mentioned is an option. ( you see the bodies of water right there ) i camped for 10 years. It evolved a lot. Theres a silent disco, wifi, a computer center, and other activities on thursday. And one thing it shares with glasto is people wait overnight early to get into car camping. They opened the lot at 3am on thursday to let people in. When i drove in today there was a queue of cars for people who came later.

And i forgot to address the shuttle bus situation. They have a service that runs throughout the area and picks up people at specific hotels. This is to cut down on people driving and reducing carbon footprint. You also lessen the chance of drunk drivers. Of course there is ride share services and even people who hire ptivate vehicles. Im posting some of the grounds maps below for reference. Time to go dance now.

Got into the Yuma tent with time to spare for Purple Disco Machine in 20 mins.

I gotta say I like that idea of car camping

Its very american! I would hate for it to become a thing here, completely kills off the density which hurts the social factor a lot

Walking is just a socialist thing. Why walk for free when you can spend thousands of 💵 and pollute the planet. You should know better 😂

Can I just say watching the Coachella live stream and seeing Lizzo perform I will survive / What makes you beautiful with Harry was a wonderful start to the weekend!  Great stuff!

ps I'm sure someone more techy than me will be able to provide a link, I'm hopeless 😂

Fair play to Harry he has really put a lot of effort into both of his headlining sets.

The merch line was pretty insane. You guys are going to think why people would be mad enough to stand in line  for 2 hours to buy a t shirt but when its literally a whole store of wall to wall things, you want something. I did personally stand in line for about 90 mins early on saturday to get a few things, but thats my choice and i had the second weekend to see who i missed.

Great write up.

the merch line thing is insane to me, I saw people post pics of it on reddit. Think it sums up everything about Coachella that feels polar opposite to  Glastonbury, and a reflection of the US culturally. Pure unbridled consumerism, makes me depressed thinking about it!

Going to a music festival and spending 2 hours queuing to spend money on something to show you were there. Just horrid.

This is not a dig at Coachella, but after watching it all weekend last week I had no interest in watching it again this week. I know it would never happen for various reasons, but there had been hypothetical talk about having two Glastonbury weekends before, it’s definitely best if these things are just one offs if you ask me.

Was there this weekend (2 — which by all accounts is the better one) and it vastly exceeded expectations. As a Glasto regular since 2003, it would be up there with my fav 3 editions of the fest.

Can post up a few thoughts / points of comparison if people are interested?

What are your fav 3 glastos as way of comparison?
