I didnt say you could ;)

agreed you can't walk on that section of the railway line, but on the map theres a dark line the other side of paines facing dairy, which suggests theres no path and you have to walk half way up dairy to get to park, but thats not the case and there is a tractor path there.

I was dealing with this question 'Does that path from gate D go all the way past The Other Stage to the SE corner? '
outside that area its open fields so in theory you can walk where you wish but there has to be some reason that path is no longer marked as public - at a later stage it may be changed
I dont know as it does not affect me .

yes your forced to walk arround it - the old map did not make this clear
but you can see it better on
some people who were using fancy toilets claimed their toilet pass got them though but when I pointed out they must have been dreaming as I know how difficult it is to even get on that track ' with a crew pass ' and photo ID to show that was my crew camp .
as they have spent a bomb laying all sorts of cables I cant see that area every being used by ticketholders.
this is the start of it ' before the gates opened ' - stewards and or security showed up and they kept watch 24/7 + at the other end { near the farm house } you need a crew pass ' to go into and out of that area ' so people who did manage to skip though were sent back so doubling up their walking time.
bottom image is at the end of the crew area .
I know its a pain but there is a lot of traffic on that road so they cant have random people walking about.

it all depends how many times you do it - I dive up the path as there is a handy newspaper shed { somewhere within Dairy Ground } and for most of it its a wide path { with metal track } so you cant get lost - image shows the path with Paines Ground to the left - that image was taken as Gate D was first opened hence why its so busy - best to stick to the track as its more stable.

Cant Say The Day - all I know is ' its not from 2014 and its not from 2013 either - they built a house next to the cattle/chicken sheds - that house was built after 2011 and before 2013 - just spotted - look at the right hand side ' you will see the date is 2011 '

Anyone know on what day of the festival this image was taken?

Hi, I'm the guy who put glastomap.com together. You're right it was taken in 2011 and I believe it was around 5pm on the Sunday of the festival. Which sounds right as if you look closely you'll see some small grassy patches in popular camping spots where people have packed up early.
Thanks all for the nice comments too. If you want anything added just let me know! Ta

Shame they never released any similar high quality aerial photos following the 2013 and 2014 fests.

give it time - A few of us { you may be able to guess who } have been asked to help out with a super image from 2014 which is just now 10 MB's working image with a plan to release a 20 MB's public image
now this one is a cracker but we have been asked not to make this public
all the information as to when it was taken will be released at the same time and it is for sure a 2014 Overhead
This will be the first overhead that I have ever seen that even marks out where Goose hall is - I already knew but I bet there is some workers who have heard the name but are unsure of its location .
My main involvement is to name all the bars { not as easy as it sounds }
I have a few edit suggestions to make and will then will have a better idea when it will be made public.

I thought we agreed we were talking at cross purposes. I was referring to a path that was outside gate d that was open in 2013 and not 2014 (though on one occasion was let through by security) whereas the photos you posted were on site.

Oh and I wasn't using the fancy loos, I had a tent there.

I think it was last year we calculated how many times Glastonbury would fit into wales. I think we ended up saying that Glastonbury is 0.002% the size of wales, or in other words Glastonbury festival is 2 microwales.

that would be 20 microwales but I'll just leave

Seeing pics of Glasto gives me a warm feeling inside.

Or maybe it's seeing that lovely lady in the shorts. Does anyone know her? Is she single? I think i'm in love.

you can pick her out on a site wide aerial map? Impressive!

Also with added turn off and turn-on-able labels camping/stages, pointers for bars and food and a recommended by eFestivals folk A-Z of food stalls*

*may have been there before but I've never seen them.

Always been there. Nice idea not very well executed.

New photo is fab.

In 2013 I bought one of these from a stall near the Greenfields, it still hangs proudly in my living room. I love the fact that it's accurate too.

I've got the 2014 one - taken at night.

Which reminds me of the pirates at Bearded - offering people "selfie sketches on parchment" with them.
