Muntz75
Was pretty empty in the tent for Foals, Slaves had a much bigger crowd straight after. I thought Foals were more popular than that, if it was a rehearsal to headline in the next couple of years I'd say they failed it. I was at Leeds and the tent was rammed... I was at the back too Edited August 31, 2015 by Muntz75
dentalplan
"Benn did, however, confirm that one headline act is booked for 2016 and that they boast a "drummer, bassist, guitar and singer" among their ranks." Gosh, what a great clue. It's not Twenty One Pilots then.

DomDom1984
NME would have reported it that way if it turned out to be absolutely shite. Foals are one of their darlings.

I'd usually agree, they weren't right on it to praise The Libertines the other night, didn't shame it but didn't call it ground breaking, no one did on here so they probably couldn't. mrtourette
Think that if the same set was 10 years ago, it'd have gotten a different response. I think that's pretty obvious, they'd only just formed 10 years ago.

mrtourette
The Libertines? Ha I foolishly though in a thread about Foals we were still discussing Foals. That'll teach me to ignore Gazza's posts.
dentalplan
Zegut reckons Foals are playing Paris on Feb 2nd so it'll be Jan/Feb time when they do some more European shows and presumably the bigger UK shows.

I'd be a little surprised if they only give themselves two months before an arena tour, huge bands give themselves longer than that.
kingcrawler
I'd be a little surprised if they only give themselves two months before an arena tour, huge bands give themselves longer than that. I suppose they could announce the arena tour within the next month to give it more time as I imagine the vast majority if not all tickets are sold for the November tour. The Paris date might be the start of a more extended European tour given it's the only date they've announced so far which might give more time too. rawaudioinput
I reckon the tour will get announced very soon; they don't need to wait until after their November stint as it's completely sold out, if anything it'll help combat tout prices Edited September 6, 2015 by rawaudioinput
thewayiam
People did see their new song only entered at number 87 on the top 100 didn't they, not even a top 40 single. Little Mix, DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge and 5 Second Of Summer beat them.

Edit: For comparison, Foo Fighters comeback single 'Something From Nothing' charted at 73 in the UK. devilman
A number one album is usually an indicator of popularity though. Foals are a little band being pushed by either deluded fans or a promoter with a stake. There are bigger, better and more successful bands that should get a push up first. They aren't a great band, they do nothing special that loads of bands haven't before. Do people realistically think they can sell an arena tour out by the end of January?, and they won't exactly be putting the dates out tomorrow. Mouseboy11
Good reason for that, Something From Nothing, much like Sonic Highways was dreadful! 'Gunga Din' peaked at 103. Alt-J who subbed have never had a Top 40 single, Kendrick Lamar and Bring Me The Horizon have managed one each and that's it. Means absolutely nothing.
