A bit like every team from 4th to 10th...

true, tho there's some teams in there who generally get a bit better thru the season, while others drop away.

I reckon the top 8 will look much like they normally do at the end - the same eight teams, tho not necessarily in the same positions (for example, Chelsea will be in there, tho top 4 looks unlikely for them now).

I think they can recover 10 points. Looks unlikely at the minute but everyone else is so inconsistent. Utd couldn't score in a brothel, City are hit and miss, Liverpool are an unknown and Arsenal are the only team lately that have shown a bit of quality.

More bad news for Mourinho today. Eva Carneiro has filed an individual claim against him, in addition to the one she filed against the club. Looks like Roman will have to cough up some cash out of court.

Chelsea would need a level of consistency from now on that they've barely achieved in their best seasons, so I can't see it.

It would probably take the lowest points for 4th spot that's ever happened for them to be in there, and while the points of per-game of 4th is currently below the average it was like that last season too and picked up in the 2nd half of the season.

I see Garde has been confirmed at Villa. Be interesting to see if he hits the ground running or whether he ends up a Felix McGath type appointment.

as in the bit player at Arsenal?

I think Leicester have been a little lucky this season, the small things seem to be going their way, you have to give them credit for building some momentum up.  However there run is based on the goals of 2 players which I cant see continuing indefinitely, I suspect they will drop like a stone, but Im sure at the start of the season mid table would have been fine with them.

as a Leicester fan anything above 18th is good by me! Pretty much most fans thoughts I think. :)

I can't see Everton finishing top 4. We've had a pretty decent start against teams that should be good but haven't been this season and we've got a run of should-be-easy games coming up but we really are one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. We can play beautiful football when we want to but it always manages to land us in an average position in the table come the end of the season.

So the Gunners..............the PLs in form team of the moment.....................Yikes!

they were always going to lose yesterday. The question was by how much.

The important thing for them given their first results was to get one win from the two games, which they managed - to everyone's surprise.

And if they still don't qualify, I'm not sure it's a bad thing either. They've got the best chance in years to win the league this year, so no CL distraction could be a very good thing to help that along.

That win in the first game though might be there downfall. There's a very good chance that win will give them the Europa league in the spring.
