LvG is an intriguing character. I do like the entertainment he is bringing with his personality. He seems extremely focused and pretty God darn ruthless at times.

It will be interesting to see how this season pans out for him and Utd. If Utd are not challenging Citeh and Chelski for top honours then he has to be in trouble IMO

Nah they won't challenge, still to many holes to fill which will probably take another couple of Windows.

City, Chelsea and Arsenal still way ahead on team development, used to each other etc etc. You can't be changing 4 or 5 personnel every season and be fluid.

He is sure getting rid of the dead wood though.

I expect around the 3rd or 4th mark.

I thought I'd put this in here for people to have little look at.

https://draftfantasyfootball.co.uk

Every year my group of mates do a fantasy league (like everyone else) and every year after about 2 months we all forget about it because by this point everyone has the same team (or at least very similar teams) so the differences in points scoring is miniscule.

Being an avid fan of the NFL I have been longing for a draft style Premier League Fantasy league and we have finally found what looks like one that is near enough to what we want.

I'd say on current transfer activity Man U are about as well equipped as City. City's first 11 is absolute class but I don't think they've got the depth of the other teams. Arsenal and Chelsea had less to fix and have each already solved their biggest issue.

If not challenging/putting pressure on the top 1/2 then they are failing massively. Big time manager, big spends, big club etc etc. Id find it unacceptable for Utd to be 2nd tier this season if I was in anyway involved in the club

Utd should be putting everyone - cept Chelsea - under massive pressure with their depth of talent.

Yep indeed...........and Id think Chelski should at the least feel their breath on their necks

I'm not convinced that Chelsea have that great depth. They pretty much played the same 15 players last season. They were relatively lucky with injuries to players. However that luck may not continue.

Here's mine

our bottom 5's are fairly similar. Is your choice to keep Bournemouth out of the bottom 3 a decision made by heart or head? Mines definitely a bit of both.

edit: just realised we also have West Ham and Newcastle the same, so bottom 7.

I think Chelsea didn't use their depth last season. Arsenal have proved the ability to use their depth more, but I'd be surprised if Chelsea struggled much more.

i started with your list, so that might have unconsciously influenced a decision or two of mine, tho it felt like I swapped a lot around all thru it.

What I've put at the bottom is mostly influenced by me thinking Leicester will probably go down under tinkerman, mostly because he's such a different character to Pearson and won't get as much out of workhorse types of players.

Arsenal still have no leaders, they're not title winners.

perhaps you're right, but they've been improving in the last few years, and how many times has it been said they need a decent goalie? I reckon they'll be close if its no cigar.

And I don't really buy the leaders thing. You just have to be good enough.

I think many have a higher opinion of Cech than me.

however good he is or isn't, I doubt there's many who don't think he's an upgrade.

Arsenal for me are a centre back and centre midfielder away from the title.

Yep, they've still got some holes, but we haven't hit Wenger's buying time just yet.

I'm expecting another biggie, of £20M+.

I think Cech is still amongst the top 5 keepers in the Prem.

They signed a CB back in January. Quite how good he is remains to be seen...

I think Arsenal are a great defensive player away from the title. Whether it's a CB or DM doesn't matter that much IMO, as the players they've got in those positions are good enough. Of course, there's a difference between good enough and a top player (see the improvement Sanchez brought).

Dont agree with this. There is always room for leaders IMO. Many a talent can be lazy/unmotivated/be having a poor game and a kick up the arse or a few well chosen words by a good leader on the pitch can make the difference between the talent being on display or not IMO
