I read a piece last night that gave me a bit more hope that he might be successful at Liverpool despite me thinking his style doesn't fit.

 

I hadn't realised his goals per game was so very good at Villa - very nearly one in two.

 

Yeah very decent ratio considering Villa have been in the shit for the last few seasons.

I'm also a little let down seeing Vidal go to Bayern, as I would have loved to see him come to Arsenal. You've got to wonder if his drink driving offence really did turn Wenger off him, as he is a phenomenal player.

last night was poor, but at least now in press conferences we get an honest appraisal of the match..

Benteke will smash it wherever he goes, real quality, but some games he does go missing for sure, I was at last game of the season v Burnley, AT Villa and Benteke was fucking awful. 

 

BUT I think a lot of it is he feels he's proven himself at Villa, he's been there 3 years and he just isn't motivated anymore, he will be busting his ass to play well under his new club, which is why its the right time for him to move on, we get the money and we reinvest.

 

I hear Sherwood has no interest in Austin, but I think that's crazy, he would be the number one target for me, still feels like he needs to prove something and can make something out of nothing, a natural finisher. £15m is a no brainer.

 

Looks like we will end up with Adebayor tho....

I've seen a quote by him in the last few weeks, basically saying "if they think I'm getting transferred and a pay cut, Spurs can do one".

 

You might get 5 matches out of him before he goes missing.

Happy we (Man Utd) haven't got Vidal. I think he'd be too erratic for a Van Gaal team.

Van Gaal also said today he expects at least another two signings. Hopefully CB and ST.

Benteke is 50/50 for me. Could score at a similar rate as he has for Villa or could massively fail in that team and the way they play. Probably paying about 10 million too much as well.

Don't quite agree with that, I think the barren spells he has experienced lowers his value. Id say around the 27/28 mark would be about right - similar to Lukaku for me

He's premier league proven, yeah, but nothing more. Those players should be under 30 million IMO.

Have they offered Delph more money then? Must be struggling to find other homegrown players

Don't think it'll work out. He may have a scoring rate of almost one in two at Villa, but that's a team who play to his strengths. Therefore at Liverpool he's likely to have a worse scoring rate, and for a £32m striker that isn't good business.

I agree entirely with that last bit. He seems the wrong type of player for Liverpool.
