And it's all over. The only problem with Newcastle not playing is that we don't get to see crying fans.*

*To the Newcastle fans on here that's nothing personal. I'm a complete sadist when it comes to football. I find images of grown men blubbering in the stands hilarious, whatever the team.

It is funny.

Said all this last year and then when it looked like we were doomed this season he started saying he has little input with the club.

Tosser.

Wish he'd piss off.

Did Sheikh Mansour not originally want to buy Newcastle and that clown would not sell?

This Everton display has been  one of the worst I've seem from any team in ages.

Pathetic.

And for how bad it was if they'd of had a championship standard keeper who could say set a wall and then defend his half of the goal or tip an inswinging corner over the bar rather than back into play it would of only been 1 vs 0. One of the many inspired signings from Wigan with Kone and Alcaraz.. Saying that though it was embarrassing, Martinez surely has to be gone now.

Everton are a shambles, Martinez is a fantasist, one of many modern coaches who think you can be like Barcelona by just playing attacking football. These guys are continually being found out because of their lack of pragmatism. There's nothing wrong with being an attacking side but you need to know how to defend.

I'm a bit worried about the Everton situation as (being a Celtic fan) I was hoping Moyes would be coming to Celtic Park. I do worry he and Everton would both be quite happy to get back together.

Congrats to Sunderland, fuck Mike Ashley.

Your right to be worried mate. Celtic were very keen on Martinez when he was at Wigan ;-)

In fairness he'd probably do a decent job up here and the possibility of the champions league is always an attraction for managers at his level.

Who's your best choice for manager then?

Think the return of Lennon would be a backwards step.

Of those in the frame;

1. Moyes

2. Rodgers

3. Lambert

4. Steve Clarke

5. Lennon

6. Me.

I pray and hope we don't get any further down my list than fourth. I don't particularly like Lennon as a manager and I think he's done his time, but I'd rather him than Roy Keane. I just hope we get neither.

Moyes is the perfect scenario, Rodgers would be great fun, Lambert is probably the most likely and I think he'd do a decent job.

Benitez 2 games earlier, sign any goddamn leftback, not indulge Sissoko so much. So many things went wrong this season even before you get to the fucking owner. I can only hope that our new manager is worth half a damn and the squad rework gets rid of the overpaid twats not the good players.

Was speaking to my uncle (WBA supporter, not NUFC) last week and he reckoned we'd either finish top half of the Prem or bottom half of the championship next season. The idea that getting back up will be an easy ride like last time is naive as fuck. If we keep Mbemba, Lascalles, Perez, Townsend and maybe Mitrovic alongside the local lads we've got a decent backbone of a team. Hoping for Mbemba and Perez to stay is probably overly optimistic though.

Be interesting to see who comes in for some of our perennial wantaways. Sissoko, Tiote, Thauvin, Cisse can't be desired by that many clubs surely? Talent means jackshit if it's not utilised.

Krul is the player who should be worth serious money, but his injury problems make him a bit more of a risk. I'm sure someone will take the gamble though, he's definitely worth it, and we could probably afford to let him go.

Krul won't play for us again I reckon. Big season for Armstrong next year I think.

I'm fairly sure of that as well. There's been a bunch of hyped young strikers that have come through the youth setup in recent years and none have really made it. Be nice if Armstrong does.

You need to get shot of that prick Ashley. Horrible man.

I'll be shocked if any fan disagrees.

Wouldn't have thought so. He's a leech on football in general. Only there for the money.

A fair whack of football owners are like that, but he's one of the worst there's been.

Aye that's true.

I just hate him for the whole SportsDirect thing and how badly they're treated. The fact he flaunts he money about in various football teams is even worse.

Also not just football he's a leech on. He's been under investigation for poor working conditions and breaking minimum wage/working hour laws.

I have to disagree. While no fan of Ashley, having spevt my football life around the lower leagues he is far from the worst culprit. I have seen owners who have sent clubs out of business either due to incompetence or greed.

Sad to see Newcastle go down.

But.... dont let the door hit you on the way out Rafa.

you're as sad as the Chelsea fans last night. The job was hard enough for Newc to accept in advance that Rafa couldn't be blamed for relegation if it happened. They took too long in getting someone decent in.

But anyway, Newc have gone down, and it couldn't happen to a nicer owner. :D

What did the fans do? Only song I could hear was 'Where's your famous atmosphere?'

talking of Chelsea tho, they were actually decent last night, perhaps the best I've seen them play all season - and Hazard was on fire.

Yeah, we were aright. Until the keeper handed you one on a plate. Easy to play well when the match counts for nothing

They sang "Rafas going down".

Rafa starting off at Real and getting relegated and being unemployed now is glorious. Especially as Real are in the Champions League final.

Many people unashamedly celebrating it too.

But yeah, Ashley, what a twat.
