So predictions for golden boot? I reckon aguero

he's defo the obvious shout, with Costa close behind. It'll probably go to which of these two sicknotes spends less time on the sick.

A few other possibilities, perhaps:-

'Arry Kane, more-so if Utd buy him (there's rumours).

Sanchez, or perhaps even Walcott (if he gets a run of games up-front, as rumoured, again).

I guess Benteke has to be in with a shout, on the basis of his past scoring and that playing in a better team should have him score more.

And Pelle, on the basis that his 2nd season might go better than his first.

That's probably about it, unless there's some new wonderkid.

Walcott is a funnier shout than Carroll ;)

Not according to the stats. :)

Carroll did slightly better last season, but not in the previous two - and Walcott's mostly been played a winger.

Walcott has done better than 1 in 3 for the last 3 seasons when mostly played as a winger and spent a fair time injured too. If he gets a run up-front and stays fit then 1 in 2 should be quite easily possible, particularly within what can be a high-scoring team.

Andy Carroll would have to rediscover his Newc form. I'd be surprised to see it, particular at a team like West Ham that tend not to be prolific.

I cant see Walcott ever approaching the golden boot while Wenger is manager. I just don't think he trusts Walcott to be the main man consistently over a season.

I know what you mean, tho I also reckon that Wenger would run with Walcott if he got off to a flier on the scoring front.

His stats from the last five seasons are pretty decent, and not much off Giroud.

In my view Aguero is a country mile ahead of any other forward in the league. If he plays enough games and gets enough supply, I think he is a sure thing.

Staying fit is his biggest problem.

Still early yet, but do you guys usually have a efests fantasy football league?

If not anyone up for getting one up and running for the new season?

Would just have to decide on which site to use? The Sun, Fantasy Premier League or Telegraph FF?

Any interest?

We not using the usual Fantasy Premier League league?

Surely if Rooney is going to play up front all season he'll be there or there abouts? Although I'm a United fan I'm not is biggest fan but if he's our striker for the year he'll score goals.

Aguero to be top scorer though for me.

are Everton going to actually sign anyone as a replacement left sided central defender?

Or are they just going to leave a Distin sized space?

I reckon that a Distin size space would cause less damage than he did in the first half of last season....utter shambles. Bournemouth have sealed their fate if they play him too often.

but the answer is probably not - we likely have no further funds until somebody is sold. And if that is one J Stones we then need two defenders. Add the Barnsley cut of the fee and that leaves very little for the creative number 10 and proper backup striker we desperately need (on top of the winger and backup right back we also need but lets be realistic). I think Stones has to go unfortunately - otherwise there's really no point turning up this season with the squad we have - we need no injuries whatsoever and we have loads before we've even started.

Stones isn't 100% for Saturday, so we could be starting the new season with Tony Hibbert at centre back, tom cleverley on the left wing and Arouna Kone up front. And Roberto Martinez as manager. Fucking hell.

If Kane moves to United he won't start enough games to win the golden boot.

Anyway, what's up with City? Went into last season with 3 strikers and ended up playing Milner there, and now they're going into this season with 2 strikers? They clearly need another, and a central midfielder, and to do something about their defense, yet they don't seem to be addressing anything. Still have to disagree with Kaos and say they've no chance of the league.

Also if Benteke's a golden boot option then Olivier Giroud is (and he isn't).

Unless Liverpools squad clicks in spectacular fashion (which it might), they've absolutely no chance of top 4.

They need Benteke, Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge (whenever hes back) firing on all cylinders. Especially with that start they have!

In fairness we were absolute turd last season, didn't have a striker, seemed to stop playing in April, and you lot only got there with a week or so to spare.

I think United's squad looks a lot better this season, especially if you get Pedro, but then I thought the same with Di Maria and Falcao.
