I think you're looking at it in a very simplistic way, how much does Rooney make man utd through merchandise? His name?

For example even though man utd lost money on di maria, they made an actual profit through shirt sales/merchandise/his name.

What's Rooney on? Something like 13m a year? I'm sure they make more than that on merchandise and sponsorship deals involving his name.

How exactly did Utd make money on Di Maria? At a tenner a pop thats 1.5m shirts sold just to cover the transfer loss - i'd be surprised if there were more than 10% of that number with ADM on. That's a lot of mugs to sell to cover the rest.

Also, has anyone used this site for football shirts? My mate has a couple and they look completely legit when compared with the real deal

Really are coming to the crux of the silly season now. Jelavic having a medical today, Moses signing on loan, Carroll being given a helpful push in the back to go to Sevilla, Adebayor stuttering due to wages, Lennon still a possibility...

Oh and Charlie Austin off to Old Trafford???

With Hernandez off LVG has to sign someone........anyone. 3 goals in 4 games. Rooney and 19 year old Wilson as the only strikers (more like "forwards") with a minimum of 40+ games to play this season. :unsure:

 

2-1 down yesterday and he leaves Hernandez on the bench.

 

West Ham though. Moses now aswell.

Id love to see City start playing a little less well to mix the crap out of this season. The league would be made so much "better" if the all the top teams are shiter and the likes of Swansea, Palace, Leicester etc etc could really stay in the mix til the end of the season. An unpredictable, crazy, all over the shop season would make this league a hell of a lot more interesting to follow, even/especially if fans of the bigger clubs will get a lot more frustrated.

£36m for Martial?! Bought for £4m two years ago. Scored 10 goals in the league in 2 seasons.

Has anyone actually seen the player (admittedly I have never heard of him) or are people just judging based on the numbers. Im in no position to judge the player, but I would mention that Thierry Henry averaged a goal every 5 games before joining Arsenal.

8 goals a season from a winger is pretty decent.
