An 'event' created out of nothing by the media to generate clicks and views. The way Sky have tried to turn that Scottish guy into some sort of transfer celebrity makes me die a little inside every time I see an advert for it.

Yep its been shite since 'Arry retired.

So Madrid have released an official statement saying it was all Utds fault. And if true, it was. 8 hours to send the paperwork back? WFT?

So now Madrid can open talks about a free transfer with De Gea from January 1st. Making him effectively a lame duck goalie. No way he can play now surely?

So really only one keeper at the club now as Valdes and De Gea are both on ice.

Valdes has apparently been rehabilitated in the last day or two. He even tweeted a pic of the club badge or something.

He updated his cover photo to the Utd badge. Probably when he thought Dave was leaving!

Probably when lvg realised Romero is w*nk.

One shit goalkeeper.

One that doesn't want to be there.

One where the manager and keeper hate each other.

Welcome to LVG man utd.

I find it strange chelsea giving Moses a 4 year contract and then loaning him out. Loaning him out 3 seasons in a row hardly suggests he is in their plans and I have never got the impression that he is at that level. Am I missing an obvious reason?

Covering arses in terms of the homegrown quota if the youth kids don't make the grade. He'll do well at West Ham, was our best player in pre-season, not that that's saying much!

I've seen very little of Ramiro Funes Mori whom Everton have just signed but I did hear Tim Vickery suggest that in his opinion he wouldn't be a success in England.

I trust his judgment, he makes some howlers (Rafael Shite and Paulinhio) but normally when he says somebody wont adapt he is correct. Its a lot of money for someone coming straight out of Argentina, you would probably want him to have a season in a European league first

££££££££

That was my first thought, but Im not sure there is huge money to be made. Have clubs being knocking Chelseas door down to offer big money in the last couple of years, if not why will they start now? As Celery said maybe its related to homegrown status.

Berahino showing how to win friends !

He has always come across as having a bad attitude and that may prevent him getting a big move in the future. While its understandable that someone is annoyed when someone else makes a decision that cost them millions of pound, nobody held a gun to his head when he signed a contract at WBA. There is a professional way to deal with these situations and sulking like a child on twitter is not one.

It's definitely money. Whether it works necessarily with Moses is irrelevant. The strategy is proven to work. Look at Lukaku for evidence. Bamford will be one of the next ones, and it's almost a no lose strategy as they aren't paying the wages when they're out on loan.

Chelsea have more than 30 players in this situation currently. It stinks but it's in the rules so why wouldn't they do it. The only surprise to me is that the other big clubs are not doing it to anywhere near the same extent.

I think Antonio to WHU is good business, looked tidy in the league below VvD to saints aswell seems pretty shrewd..

Pleased with albion's dealings.. The berahino 'saga' to coin a phrase is shoddy to say the least..

Two hard negotiators & a sulky little twerp with an entire bag of chips on his shoulder weren't likely to end pretty.. JP said he ain't for sale, DL (from what's being said) offered 22m with just 5m up front, JP values him higher than that.. So, the aftermath is spurs have unsettled this kid, he wants to leave, made that clear with stupid comments last season before getting his head down for 6 months but anybody who yhiught he'd matured was obviously way off.. His attitude is one that could really bollocks up his career, he can finish, quite pacey, reads the game well, but I doubt he'll be at the euros next year now which was his aim.. Home fans pissed off with him again..

I get that players want to better themselves, rightly so, ambition is something to admire but to carry yourself well alongside it is equally important

I really hope it turns out that Man Utd deliberately sabotaged this just to troll Real Madrid, and that they're happy losing £20mil just to do so.

Please tell me he doesn't go by the name 'Dave'.

England have a pretty weak crop of strikers at present. I would have thought a prolific season would give him a great chance to claim one. I suspect he will have to back down and apologize.

At best all three parties have tried to play the other two and failed. This situation doesn't really benefit any of them. For it to do so one will have to break ranks and be the better person, which given the self-serving nature all have displayed isn't likely.

Not sure interesting is the word..

Albion value him at 25m..

Spurs offer 18m to start then, we're led to believe, three more bids with staggered payments & initial down payment of 5m..

I was hoping theyd sell & invest in Matt Phillips & Charlie Austin but it looks like spurs tried to do it cheaply.. Ball was in the baggies court though with 2yrs left on his deal..

It's a bit of a mess and one that was avoidable, if DL paid what JP wanted, saido would've been gone..

Danny Murphy said 'what are WBA doing? He wants to leave, and will lose value by the end of this season with him having just one year to run on his contract'

Why should anyone leave for less than they're worth just because it suits the other party?

Yes that's what the article said, seemed interesting to me.

Absolutely right, I guess the answer would be 'because West Brom want to sell him and if they keep shit-talking their player in public to the point that he doesn't want to play for them they might not ever get the money they want'.

Like I said all three parties have tried to wangle the situation in their favour as much as possible. West Brom just want to squeeze as much out of Spurs as they can while still making Berahino look like the bad guy (publicly chastising him when he said he wanted to play for a big team, publicising his transfer request) so the fans don't get on their case when they do sell him (looks like it's working).

Spurs want to pay as little as possible and are hoping that the 'drama' means that West Brom will want to get rid of him on the cheap (without realising that the drama is mostly created by West Brom to serve their own purpose). They're trying to do it as cheaply as possible but probably hold most the cards as they don't really need the player, he's a nice-to-have for squad rotation and as a home-grown player.

Berahinho is stuck in the middle getting increasingly frustrated when he's probably being led on by both sides whose only interest in paying as little/getting as much as they can for him. Yes he should learn to keep his mouth shut but you can put that down to inexperience, an older player would either know that this is how the game is played and to sit it out until it happens or that if it isn't going to happen then there's nothing they can really do about it (unless it's Peter Odemwingie of course - is there something about West Brom that makes players do dumb shit to get away?).

Got to say am disappointed with Arsenal's dealing in this transfer window. As a guy stated on Talksport yesterday, its hard to see how Wenger can justify his position much longer if Arsenal are not challenging come April - And I would fall very much in the pro-Wenger camp. He has basically indicated in this window that he believes the squad of last year to have been title winners minus a goalkeeper.

I still cant see how we can win the league with Coquelin as our only holding player. Yes he is playing well, but what happens when/if he gets injured or suspended (like when he had to come off against Palace to avoid a deserved red), Arteta and Flamini are truly awful and should not even be an option. Should have spent some money and got William Carvalho - injury and all.

I definitely think that due to the media backlash against Ozil's performances Wenger has been worried to spend big again.
