definitely, stone roses are a pretty big seller - along with the 1975 and disclosure theres really no need till feb

Appears them being at T isn't the same big seller as the Manchester gigs.  If you assume maximum day tickets is around 15,000 and this is a limited release, it must be worrying for T you can still get Friday day tickets.  I thought the Roses day would fly out the door but appears not.

This is they've already done T, Glasgow Green and now T again with no new album. Manchester people are naturally going to snap it up. I think they would shift day tickets far more in London. I do reckon they could just about pull it off if R&L announed them, I'd say you'd get another 50k interested in seeing them up North, you can't get a standing etihad ticket but I wouldn't bet on them taking the chance.

I agree that this resurrection hasn't got the same feel as the last one.  T was such fckup this year it seems a lot of people just not bothering, regardless of who's playing.

Yeah a couple of people I know who went said they had a great time but there was many issue's. I said to him, if you enjoyed that, you'd have loved Balado Park, not that I can compare the two but from this board get the feeling it's what it books now being the problem and not the site. I can't complain, probably the best crowd in the UK, the best tent venue comfortable, the best weather possible and while I'll admit the lineup wasn't close to that of 2010/11, I did want to get around and try out all the stages so it was good for that. Pink 2 only being round the corner from the arena too. I wish I'd done it in 2011 but I got there finally. If there was a new album, I think they would fly but there doesn't seem to be one approaching. I will say the only reason I can see them leaving London out is if Reading do that them for a South option and Leeds will sell well enough off of them.

Was Avicii ever officially labelled a headliner by TITP?

Just wondering with Disclosure being announced and possibly headlining R+L - would have thought they'd be a shoo-in for that Saturday night closing slot but it's been clarified that they're not headlining.

Well the tweet they responded to saying they're not headlining was specifically asking about the Saturday night slot, so even if they don't refer to that slot as a headliner, they knew which slot the guy meant.

Yeah but that's why I was asking if Avicii were ever officially called a headliner. The Twitter just says they're not a headliner and I don't think they'd go into explaining that they are playing after the headliner but they're not a headliner or whatever. Either way I still think it'll be Disclosure to close that night out as I don't think Calvin Harris will be back and also they're a bigger name than Faithless or whoever else could fit that slot.

Didn't the T Twitter say something like "They're a headliner but not a "headliner" if you know what we mean?" That would say to me that they're either subbing (or co-headlining) or are on the Radio 1 Stage (which I have doubts about given its the same slot they did a few years ago).

The Prodigy are bigger and have headlined that stage 3 times now. They'll be heading the Radio 1.

Saturday night slot is pretty tricky this year if it's not Calvin Harris

Faithless
Chase & Status
Tiesto
Skrillex
Chemical Brothers
Deadmau5

Mebes?

Are any of the slightly younger crop (Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Hardwell) big enough to do it?

Disclosure are bigger than any of those, particularly with the T in the Park crowd, so that's what I'm not getting about this thing. It must be Calvin Harris. :P

But yeah if it's neither Disclosure nor Calvin then those would be possibilities, unless they're just going for a double headliner thing rather than a dance act closing.

The fact that everybody expects a discotheque act to finish main stage suggests that the average T goer nowadays and I are completely different animals. I understood it when it was an excuse to give Calvin his otherwise undeserved punt to headline status but it needs to stop. It really does. Mind you it's probably better than snow patrol.
