I've had a bash at trying to work this out from the 8 mile figure and have calculated that Michael Eavis owns the world.

 

Just to add that I was shit at maths at school and remain shit at maths.

Worthy Farm is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to Worthy Farm.

If 8 mile circumference would be approx 5.1 sq miles if circular. As not circular, guessing about 3 1/2 to 4 sq miles.Having said that WF is much, much smaller.

I remember thinking the site was big back then!

Changed answer - definitely not 2003, no Lost Stage, LV in that field instead.

It was plenty big and busy enough, still couldn't see all of it so any extra has always seemed rather decadent.

I guess the photo used by the BBC was an old one, but the article was definitely dated 2013. I can't seem to re-find the article now otherwise I'd post it.

Oh aye I believe the BBC's incompetence over any intent of yours anyday. They're just a bit pants really with their festival coverage. Folk might accuse them of having a jolly but they clearly don't have their best people on it to start with, let alone enough talent to count as a jolly

Not big enough is really the answer to this question.

If it was bigger, then perhaps M&EE would have a much easier time managing it with less landowners involved and there would be less of a chance that this would encorage them to relocate it.

According to the Bath Chronicle on 20th June this year the farm is 570 acres but the festival needs 900 acres to function;
