And Booka Shade hopefully.

As for LCD, I'd love them at PKP but I could see them being like the Roses were. Quite a small but dedicated crowd. Be great for the Marquee but theyre way too big for that.

Up for a bit of Recondite myself but agree Booka Shade likely too.

I really like LCD and hope they play at PKP but I'm struggling to see why they're headlining festivals like Coachella? I get that they like to be the festival that does the whole re-union thing (so maybe that goes some way to explaining it) but LCD had more of a cult, rather than main-stream, following the first time round. I'm not sure if that's changed so it will be interesting to find out where they'll be positioned at European festivals?

Some quality names announced for Sonar today. It'll never happen but how good would a late night, Main Stage Jean-Michel Jarre show be?!?!?

The Weeknd are probably more well known and relevant than Outkast were a couple of years back (at least from a UK perspective) so a co-headline slot, or prior to a decent dance act, isn't out of the question imo.

Confirmation today that Arcade Fire are definitely about this summer. If they aren't the missing RW Thursday headliner then, scheduling aside, that must make them a very strong contender for PKP. Remember seeing them early evening on the Main in 2007 but they haven't played since then.

arcade fire's press release stated only 2 eu festival performances this year. they were announced for 2 today.

Dietediet, are The Weeknd big enough to headline PKP? They are in Europe in august and are the shitty kind of band that Pukkelpop is booking in the last years.

Difficult to say. Semprini is right when saying he has the relevance, but I fear he might be too 'new' for Belgian crowds. I Can't Feel My Face is only his first song that is receiving air play in Belgium. Compare that to Bastille who were an obvious plan b and generated slow ticket sales, even after three nr.1 hits and some sold out arena shows. And he's already playing Werchter Boutique, although that seems to be uncertain now.

I wouldn't rule him out as a plan b though. Depends on what other headlining acts are around. But I can't imagine they'd go booking him as a first choice after last year's criticism.

Reading/Leeds Twitter account seems to be hinting at Green Day.

Said it from the start that I thought Green Day would be a PP headliner for this year and I'm still sticking with that.

Can see them doing Frequency, Pukkelpop and Lowlands then over to the UK for R&L. I'll even stick me neck out and say they will do them in that order.

Think Disclosure will be too high up the bill at RW for them to also play at PKP - they'll either close out the Main or headline one of the two tents. Likely be The Chems, Jack U and possibly Pendulum (if they have three) as the late night dance acts.

Of the rest of the R+L announcement, Parkway Drive, The Internet, Hannah Wants, TDCC and Foals must all now be strong contenders.

I almost sure that Parkway Drive will headline Shelter one night, Mastodon will headline it another night after last year cancellation and maybe Descendents (if Ieperfest don't get them) will headline the 3rd one.

That's a fan page but you're right, there's definitely a PKP sized hole in their schedule. Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't want to come back though after all the technical problems last year.

Oh, always thought it was run by the organisers.

Last time I saw them at the Marquee about 3 years ago the sound was horrid. Way too loud. They should sack their sound engineer.

It'll be interesting to see how they are going to approach the Wednesday as if I'm right in thinking this is the first time they've advertised it as a 4 day festival.

It will be interesting but my hunch is that it'll be a similar format to last year - just the 'Dance' section will be open. It worked really well and is no doubt the reason why they've decided to promote it as a 4 day festival. About time they caught up really as RW and Dour have been 4 days for a while now.

Hope they do another take-over in the Dance Hall but can't see it being 2manydjs again (sorry Dave!). Perhaps they might hand the reigns over to Goose this year? Would love Disclosure to put on one of their 'Wild Life' nights but they mostly centre around DJs rather than live acts. Same goes for Hospitality and Ram.

Quite a lot of overlap with Belgian festivals in early Summer. But some certainties in here as well.

Decent start. Will look as Lowlands as a PP alternative if the line up is shit again.

Cure announced for Bestival. Could be in for a good line up so far.

Chemical Brothers

Cure

LCD Soundsytem

Disclosure

Some shitty American Nu-metal/punk band

Some indie pop shit

Is realistic.

Edit. Forgot a rapper. Stick Kendrick in there.

Plenty on the Lowlands line up I'd like and also expect to see. LCD must be pretty certain now, along with Oscar and the Wolf (sub on Main?) and EODM. Looking lower down, really hoping for Collabs, M83, Recondite, Tale of Us (to make up for cancelling last year), Rodhad and The Black Madonna. Likely that Damien Jr. Gong Marley, Paul Kalkbrenner, Sum 41 and Jamie Woon will also feature.

Forgot to mention what great news it is that Jagwar Ma are playing Green Man! Their 2013 show remains one of my top 5 PKP performances ever and I'd be very happy if they were announced for this summer.
