And the weather forecast has gone to shit.  Hylands looking slighting better than Weston, could be a very wet and muddy one this year.

Has it ever really been muddy ? Even when it rains it doesn;t seem to get too muddy and the ground holds up well .... gutted though its been so nice and now the forecast is horrendous :-(

Had a few muddy years but on the whole you're right its never that bad.  Certainly never compares to Glasto mud even in the really bad years.

Very true - never worn wellies at V, whereas always (apart from 2010) have worn wellies at least one day at Glastonbury and this year all 5 days for the first time .... I'm praying for no wellies at V :-)

Lol you and me both!  I'm walking boots whatever the weather for comfort as much as anything but still hoping it improves.

I do remember one year at V they couldn't get the lorries up the hill to Grey campsite to empty the loo's or re stock the food vans.  That was the worst year mud wise.  Cant remember which year but would guess it was 05/06 maybe 07 given the weather at Glasto that year.

Yeah always Weston.  Hylands is closer but the first year we went we could only get Weston tickets and never changed.  Wasn't going to go this year as the line up isn't really for me but couldn't imagine not being there after all these years.  Taking my Nieces so getting the next generation involved for i'm to old!

last year I'm pretty sure they were offering cheaper VIP upgrades in the last few weeks before V, has anyone seen anything similar this year around ?

Not seen anything on this last year, i was waiting to see and only picked up a ticket last week.  I assume tickets have sold much better than last year (not hard) so there isn't a need to sell VIP cheap.

Any news on Our Garden or anything similar this year? I got an email from Virgin Media saying "This year, we will not be offering Our Garden or similar hospitality experience at V Festival due to a change in strategy."

I mean I'd prefer a strategy with porcelain toilets...

Scrapped to get more people to upgrade to VIP I believe

There is a company putting on posh toilets but you have to pay.  I think Vfest retweeted a link to buy tickets in advance at a lower cost.

Club Class Events? Ever heard of these? I don't know if £20 p/p is justifiable.

Having been to almost every V festival since 1998 - I am intrigued about this change of strategy, Seeing that they have re-instated the Grey campsite - it would imply that ticket sales are considerable up on the last few years. In recent years I have just noticed things disapearing from the site - like the Strongbow Rooms,  the healthy eating area by the 2nd stage, the Carling Pub that used to be on the main drag in front of Yellow campsite. If there is no "Our House" or "Our Garden" then it feels like the festival is really decreasing any alternative entertainment from the main stages.

There's very little on the lineup this year that really appeals to me - but as watsonjm posted earlier - I couldn't bear to not be there! Looking at the sitemap - seems like Weetabix and Cadbury's have a major presence. Perhaps that's more suitable for the Beliebers!!!

There's footage on channel 5 and mtv this year of V - don't think it's ever had proper coverage before?

Guilty pleasure watching right now - Little Mix :P

Very much this.  Carling bar was a big loss as it was my go to during the day for a cold beer when i had a gap  Ended up doing a quiz in there randomly last year on Sunday afternoon, great fun.  Our house has essentially been replaced by Cocktail, Cocktail.  From what i can tell Our Garden has been turned into VIP and made bigger.

The bar and healthy food area at the back of the 2nd stage is the other area i miss a lot, that was the only bar to have Guinness and a few decent food places.

In my opinion (and some guess work) they are spending a lot more on the main stage headliners and so are making cuts else where.  The arena line up this year was a massive down grade on past years for example.

The best improvement is the Friday night silent disco which is always great fun and the family i go to V with these days love it.

Things change, some good some bad but I still had a great weekend, part of that is just V, small part is the line up, biggest part at the moment is introducing my nieces to the world of festivals.  Second year for them at 15 and 13 and both fully have the bug now.

How did you find this year @festy-dancer ?
