Grimes has always seemed like she'd be my favoruite act on paper but then does nothing for me in practise, maybe I need to give her another listen and see if I can get there.

This was me last week. This week I have spent a week listening to Grimes, watching videos, reading interviews, and I'm now confident that she is categorically the coolest ever. I'm pretty sure now that I hadn't listened to her before, I must have been mixing her up with somebody else, then seeing and hearing stuff about Grimes and then thinking "sound like the sort of thing I'd be really into, but I listened to some Grimes and she was rubbish". I now know she's not rubbish, she's great. I'm really excited for this now, great booking, can't wait.

Can I assume Pink Moon is just a pre-pitched thing?

Yes and No - yes there is pre-pitched tents but they also have a wide range of Trailers etc etc but they are not cheap although the Airstream looks a good price compared to their standard Trailer.

Have never stayed there but I walk past it each year as its next to Crew Camping { part of which can be seen at the rear of this image }

There must be a demand as they normally sell out each year.

4 Berth Gypsy Caravan £ 1,800
4 Berth Airstream     £ 2,050
4 Berth Trailers      £ 3,240
6 Berth Trailers      £ 4,440

It's been removed now but Chortle.co.uk reported the comedy headliners. Now listed at http://myinforms.com/en/a/27058820-russell-howard-headlines-latitude/

Russell Howard, Paul Merton and Al Murray are to headline this comedy arena in this year’s Latitude Festival. It has been announced. Other well-established names taking part in the festival in Southwold, Suffolk, from July 14 to 17 include Josh Widdicombe, David O'Doherty, Mark Watson, Sara Pascoe and Hal Cruttenden.

As formerly reported on Chortle, Liam Williams is to unveil his debut play Travesty, about 'a couple of young, slightly lost, middle-class people’ at the festival. Also in the theatre arena, Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc will be acting in a new production of The Importance of Being Earnest, while Mark Thomas will be performing his new stand-up theatre show Red Shed. The show is about the venue where he first started to perform in public, the Wakefield Labour Club, and its place in supporting the poor members of its community. Finalists from this year’s Chortle Student Comedy Awards will again open proceedings in the comedy arena.

The other comedians taking part are: Nick Helm, Simon Evans, Mark Steel, Sam Simmons, Joe Lycett, Kerry Godliman, Pappy's, The Horne Section, Daniel Sloss, James Acaster, Nish Kumar, Joel Dommett, Max And Ivan, Marcel Lucont, Cardinal Burns, Jamie Demetriou, Ellie White, Ivo Graham, Felicity Ward, Al Porter, Rhys James, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, David Morgan, Iain Stirling, Phil Wang, David Elms, Comedians' Cinema Club, Bobby Mair, Kieran Hodgson and Richard Gadd.

Seems pretty good, especially the undercard.

If this is genuine and has just been released early by mistake it means that the press stuff has been sent out and we must be due an announcement soon I reckon.

I thought Russell Howard would be up there. After seeing his tour dates though I was kind of hoping for Jim Jeffries.

Not for Latitude, but I have bought from them before - they are the NEC group's ticket-selling company so very reputable.

thanks for that. Not being a cheapskate but they do fee free Friday's ! (Maybe they don't cut such a good deal with the event!)

I see on twitter we are getting a comedy announcement this week. -as a newbie to latitude how easy was it to hear about the secret sets. I know Thom Yorke did one last year but wasn't really paying attention till then! How did u regulars know this was occurring? Also are the stage splits announced before the festival?

Thom/Nigel actually announced their set on twitter around midday on the day they were playing , so I think people either saw that or got texted by people outside. And the Ed Sheeran did two, the 2nd of which was kept pretty under wraps I think, but then the 1st one he announced on twitter like an hour before...so I guess it varies but maybe Latitude likes them to announce on twitter for some PR, not that there's any guarantee they'll be any secret sets.

Cheers for that -Secret sets at other festivals are usually a bit naff anyway - pulp/Radiohead on the park stage was as frustrating as it gets - gave up and had better time elsewhere! Are the programmes expensive?

There was no listing of the secret gigs in our staff handbooks, so staff won't officially know.  There was a shed-ton of extra security in the woods for those after hours, so that's a good indicator.

Cheers I'll keep a lookout for any furtive security movement! What's the mobile phone coverage like on site? Its all very well people posting stuff but if u can't get a signal!

If you go to the official page and line-up the stage and day splits are already there. Just click on 'see acts' for each stage
