anyway we've spent a lot of time thinking about headliners and who might be playing, what about people's wishlists for the undercard?

i'd love to see some of the following who are about and i think could be realistic...

bill ryder jones

super furry animals

sleaford mods

band of horses

the coral

ride

ryley walker

steve mason

Yes to Bill Ryder Jones, The Coral, SFA, Ride, Steve Mason.

Having just seen Sleaford Mods support the Libs I would pass, but think it is definitely a possibility they could be there.

I haven't thought about Band of Horses for years, I don't know if they are touring, they seem like a very Latitude band if they are.

I'll check out Ryley Walker.

band of horses are doing a few european festivals in june which i why i mentioned them, likewise i've not listened to them much for years but loved the first two albums and could see them really fitting in well at latitude.

i love sleaford mods so much, caught them live three times last year and they blew me away every time (norwich waterfront, hyde park bst and cambridge junction). i can see why they wouldnt have worked well in an arena environment with the libertines but i could see them doing a superb early evening 6music tent set at latitude.

ryley walker just blew me away at norwich arts centre last year. a beautiful nick drake/tim buckley influenced sound but live he has an amazing jazz band backing him and goes off into all sorts of crazy jams. would be great in the i arena.

Does the Pixies Brixton date make them more or less likely to headline?

It puts them in the country the week of the festival, looks like they have a festival in Berlin on Sunday 17 so definitely out for the Sunday, probably travelling on Saturday but possible for Friday.

They've added Friday in France. It's only the other end of a ferry route from Dublin so it isn't as far out of the way as that seems, nevertheless I don't think it's happening anymore. Brixton is probably the consolation for no fests. Someone needed to make way for The National in the predictions anyway.

Ah, looking at the gigs they have scheduled now it is almost certainly not going to happen, they will be on their way to Berlin from France.

Having seen The Pixies twice & The National twice, selfishly I would take the National.

I love The Pixies but The National are one of my favourite current bands.

now pixies are seemingly out i'd predict the maccabees, last shadow puppets and the national are looking the most likely trio of headliners. the lana del rey news certainly puts her in the running though. i'm still hoping new order could be in with a shout too and whilst radiohead would obviously be a massive step up in headliner for latitude i wouldn't rule it out due to the thom yorke connection.

my preference would be new order, radiohead, the national but i reckon we'll end up with the maccabees, last shadow puppets and the national.

The first festival Lana Del Rey has been announced for is Vieilles des Charreux in France over Latitude weekend. Playing Sunday. I know that her headlining was something that'd been chewed over earlier in the thread and forgotten about with lack of shows but this should put her back in the frame.

Don't think she's headline material, tbh. She's got the name recognition, but she's not exactly renown as a live performer.

yeah at the time i thought noel was a bit of a coup for latitude and seemed like a big step up in headliner size, especially as he was headlining titp in the same year. i find it a bit surprising he's headlining the likes of victorious, y not, kendal etc but fair play to him. it has made titp look a bit weak last year now though.
