So here's FIBs 10 essentials for the festival, so just to build up a wee bit of excitement (8 weeks to go!), what's everyone's essentials to pass on to any newcomers?

Mines is a cool bag, for those camping. Accompanying that with the ice from the bars and the dirt cheap lidl beers, you've got an ideal makeshift fridge for some frosty beverages.

Well my only essential would be to see Biffy...

What is the deal with booze in the site ? Can we bring our own? If not what's the price in the arena, one of my mates who I'm going with said you can get a 50 CL of vodka for 4 euros?

you can take as much booze as you like to the camping site. 50cl of Vodka for 4 euros must be lidl, not in the arena. I think couple of years ago it was 3 euros for small beer (1/3) 9 euros for a litre and 9 euros for spirits.

Yeah, those were the prices of drinks last year as well, inside the festival - I expect them to be the same this year.  75CL of cheap vodka, gin and other spirits for about €4.50-€5.00 from Lidl, and 33cl cans of German beer from €0.25.

Heading over for the first time this year with a few mates, we are flying into Madrid for a night then heading down. Anyone know the best way to go about getting there from Madrid ?

You can get a Renfe train from Madrid direct to Benicassim.  Takes about 3 and a half hours.

FIB said they have "1 more name" when someone asked in Spanish if the lineup is closed.

Any idea what comment that was?

Also, surely if they're announcing 1 name it has to be a big 1?

alexfc do what me and my mates have done and use it as a holiday and consider the fact that tickets for Beni are a lot cheaper than the average UK festival prices. So when you compare them, the price is around the same but it's a holiday instead

That's a good point you make. So many of my mates have raved on about Beni so it's one I really want to tick off the list

We use it as our annual holiday , we have 2 weeks in Oropesa and the festival is always fantastic , regardless of line up although I think it looks great this year , South Beach was fun last year , it will be awesome this year . Dive in mate , you won't regret it

I can't remember the exact thread it was posted on, and it may have been mis-translated. I would think there's a B lister still to announce but even if the lineup is closed it's still really good.

Check the times for the direct trains from Madrid to Benicassim - I think there's only 1 train/day, and I vaguely remember it's kind of late - check the Renfe website. Usually you'll have to change in Valencia. In any case - buy your train tickets as soon as you can - quite cheap when bought in advance!

I didn't go last year, but I've heard very fun things about South Beach!

I had a DM reply from FIB last Friday, when asking them if they were going to sort out one or two well known indie guitar bands to play on the electronic weighted Thu night bill, and their reply was "We'll give more bands!!!" - make of that what you wish!

Ah fair, me and my mates are actually only booking the festival tickets tonight and we will have to wait a little bit before we have money to book the train. We might even be considering just going by bus, I know it takes a lot longer but it seems more regular.

Any idea how to get these tickets? Haven't booked mine yet so an early bird price would be sweet!

Check the forums such as  Benicassim English speaking fan site , just checked and someone just sold 4 tickets for £250 . Tickets will pop up , message them and do the business , and don't panic cos this fest never sells out , we have bought tickets at the fest for £50 ! Happy hunting
