i don't start many threads but the ones I do, I feel passionate about.

Download this app. Seriously.

I've now got a love affair with Desert Island Discs. Hundreds on there. Kirsty Wark The excellent presenter.

Start with Noel Gallagher and work through the endless list.

Makes a refreshing change from just music and (in my case) has made me totally re-evaluate my opinions on so many people.

So far my faves... Noel Gallagher. Stephen Fry. Freddie Flintoff. Sarah Millican.

Download it. Enjoy.

I wouldn't be starting with Noel, can't stand him.

Even if you don't like Noel (and I'm no particular fan) he is a very interesting guest.

It does often lead you to re-evaluate your opinion on the person. The exception to that was Julie Burchill who is the only one who I had to switch off as I couldn't abide the self centred opinionated cow.

And that iPlayer app is brilliant for catching up with whole music shows that you might have missed so I can now listen to 6music Recommends in the car.

I know nothing is fixed in stone, but the legends slot has been solo artists, not bands for as long as I can remember.

You're right of course, but I can't believe that would exclude acts (ABBA for example).

I just have a soft spot for a-ha, on checking they had 14 top 20 hit singles in the UK.....vastly more than Dolly Parton! (I'm not for a minute saying they'd be as good or as popular as her), but they have reformed.

Desert Island Discs is a top listen, always changes my opinion of someone. Can't stand Miranda Hart on the TV, but her DID was really moving.

Clive Woodward's one where he was talking through the music on the team bus on the way to the 2003 final got the hairs on the back of my neck up.

Noel G also really interesting. Ed Miliband talking about his dad in WW2 was pretty intense too, and can't stand the guy normally.
