donsn't mean anything for us, right?

last year we've got only 11 acts from sasquatch here and most of them were lower section-bands. and the line-up was as primavera-compatible as this years edition back then.

Assuming the crossover is just 11 this year, I'd guess:

Sufjan Stevens

Tycho

M. Ward

Todd Terje

Savages

Chelsea Wolfe

Julia Holter

Titus Andronicus

King Gizzard

Bully

Autolux

I'd be quite happy with this.

I wish Sufjan would be on the bill. Ideally he'll get the auditorium (but maybe he's too big for that? and tickets will run out pretty soon) but a late night spot at the main stage would do just fine. Maybe the 1:30 am slot James Blake played in last year, perfect for a calmer show after the (hopefully) storming headliner (LCD?).

What do people think of Iggy Pop here? is he a serious option? Watching him on YouTube now, his voice is surprisingly strong. Though I kinda wish he'll accept his age and wear a shirt... you're not 27 anymore dude.

im thinking about primavera for me and my boyfriend. Just trying to do some sums so I can work out how much I need to put aside. How much money would you say you need for spending? Do you have to buy booze and things on site as well (wondering if there's any ways to save money)

I went with my girlfriend last year and we completely underestimated the amount we would need for booze. The drinks are dominated by Heineken which me and my girlfriend couldn't stand so we opted for paying a bit more and bought our drinks from the coca-cola stand where they did pretty nice drinks at €5 each. So from this you can probably work out how much you would spend per night. Also a lot of people drink on the tube and outside the festival before going in and I saw quite a lot of people sneaking in squashed bottles of spirits and just buying soft drinks inside so if you wanted to risk it you could save yourself a fair bit of money.

I haven't been since 2011. Do the sketchy guys that walk through the crowd selling festival favors finally carry anything trippy, or is it the same old bogus stuff?

I didn't actually encounter any of that last year when I went. I just couldn't escape the hundreds of guys walking through the crowds with Heineken strapped to their backs selling pints in the crowd, it started off quite funny but got a bit annoying towards the end getting hit in the face with their little flag.

me and my friends got burnt twice buying shit from random people in the crowd - both times it did nothing and in hindsight was probably crushed up paracetamol or something. guess we just got unlucky, but it's probably the most frustrating thing about foreign festivals for me as i'm always careful to source my stuff well

We waltzed right in with water bottles filled with vodka. They don't pat you down there. And you can bring in food, which was great for us--we would get a huge lunch in the Poblenau neighborhood outside the venue around 3:00 for 12 to 15 euro and then not really eat again until around midnight, so we would just bring a sandwich or something in and snack on that rather than spend money on food inside, which IMO wasn't that great.

I agree the food was pretty poor, bar the Las Fritas stand, those chips were bloody good.

Yeah, a couple people in my group got screwed. Would rather have some shrooms or acid, really, but nobody had any.

The only decent food I had inside in 2011 was the quatro queso pizza.

I don't imagine I'll be eating the food there, more than likely will be bringing my own snacks in with me. I'm vegan so eating out isn't often an option. It'll probably be the cost of booze and other niceties that will hit my back pocket the most. Haha.

Hey, a trio of people have just taken the time to helpfully answer your question. But don't feel the need to thank any of them...

Not that I'm not hoping to see either Neil Young or Radiohead on the bill. But wouldn't they already be announced if they were on it. If they were announced just like The Strokes last year loads of people would have preferred a Primavera-ticket to another festival. On the other hand, as the prices go up the could make more profits out of these huge headliners. Still, if these acts really were an option, they would have already been announced for some other festival, wouldn't they?

Neil Young maybe as he's already announced a bunch of tour dates, but Radiohead haven't announced anything yet so if (and thats a big if) they were to play, it would no doubt be announced later along with the rest of their tour dates. who knows what the reasoning is for the late announcement? maybe there's a big act that they aren't obligated to announce yet - maybe there isnt a reason at all and they just fancy doing it this way this year

All the tour dates by Neil Young are arenas though. Looking at his tour schedule there are a few dates left to fill, but none of them are in the Primavera weekend. Seems to me he'll be in Spain at the 20th, but who knows.

A late Radiohead announcement sounds logical to me. Hopefully the line up comes quick. It'll be my first Primavera so I'm dying to know who I'll see :)

If you're like me you might want to save some money for the merch stand, I'm quite a sucker for festival tote bags. I believe they actually have quite a popular vegan stand within the festival if you ever did get peckish and had no food.

right you are about Neil! seems a very realistic possibility. would be fantastic so i hope you're right. Radiohead are probably less likely but we can hope right?

what a strange first post

Dunno, I was always taught to thank people who had helped me, even if they were paid professionals. In this case, a few unpaid forum people have helpfully answered a question about how much money you need at PV but no appreciation shown. And there's form on this...
