I cannot or the life of me see how I can edit a post that I've just posted?

Using Edge, IE or Mozilla I can't see any button or link to do so.

Any pointers? Cheers...

I see the button on this post but not on the post I want to edit. WTF?

No. Websites like this don't just grow on trees.  They cost money to set up and run.  It's a great fun freebie for many but if we want it to keep going every so often we have to dip into our pockets.

Oh I'll bite then :-P

I know that efests costs money to run and maintain and I take the point but I'm not getting it for free am I? There's advertising all over the site - some fairly intrusive at times.

On the forum side - a basic function on any online forum is to be able to edit a post - charging to do so after a period of time is a bit cheeky.

I would never say that to anyone.

I've enjoyed this forum for many years, free of charge and only recently opted for Gold membership. By all means carry on with the 'free' service, enjoy the chat and live with the pop ups and limitations. I'm simply saying we, as users, have choices but I'm not saying  .... off has to be one of them.

the edit rules (only able to edit for short  amount of time) was in place for a long time before the 'gold' member option existed.

The ad-free 'gold' member option was created because some people asked for it and not because I thought it was a worthwhile option to offer, but having decided to offer it I've looked at what other 'extras' it was possible to include to make it more attractive, and an extended edit time was one of the few other 'extras' it was possible to include - so it was.

So there's been no knobbling of normal membership, instead it's extra options for those who wish to pay up-front and actively contribute to this website's future.

years and years - quite possibly for over a decade. I've not changed anything about them for a long long time.

It's possible that one of the many upgrades that have happened over the years might have slightly altered something about how they work, tho I'm not aware of anything like that.
