reporting spam

some foreign type has just spammed the glastonbury chat forum.

What does the report button actually do? What course of action would you most like us to take? Just report one of the posts, or report each individual one? Is just writing "spam" on the report sufficient?

Or is be better to do nothing at all?

Ideally, you only need to report multiple spam posts from a single just the once - the user will get marked as a spammer by an admin, and that one action deals with all of the posts from that one user.

If it's obviously spam as the stuff you just reported was, there's not really any need to include anything in the report - I can work out it's spam.
