Drop off Point

Has anyone got any experiance using the drop off point? it just seems to be a long way from the festival and getting a bus seems a hassle?

is it possible to be dropped at gates by cars? i know they don't like this but just wondering if it was possible

its just as I'm so local to the festival it seems silly to be dropped further away

It's not impossible but All the roads around the site are temporarily designated clear ways so no stopping is alowed. The festival was criticised last year for traffic management and so it's likely that enforcement (fixed penalty notices) will be stepped up for anybody breaching the rules. It might be a pain in the arse but it's been done to help minimise the effect of the festival on local residents, so please do respect this.

If you live or are staying locally use the shuttle bus at Glastonbury Town, Wells or Shepton Mallet. Drop you right by Gate A only 2 minute walk and you are in the festival (assuming you avoid the Wednesday morning rush)

Much easier than the drop off point at the show ground

Pick up at Glastonbury Town hall is the best as there is a bakery next to it that does cracking bacon rolls

The official drop off point is at the Bath and Wells Show Ground some distance from the site and you wait for a bus to pick you up. It is very busy Wednesday morning but pretty quiet at other times. Probably ten minute bus journey to the site

In terms of getting near the site by private car and just getting dropped off its pretty difficult as the side roads are closed and all the obvious pull in points have stewards in them. Certainly on Wednesday morning would be very difficult. Best to stick to the advertised shuttle links

The drop off point was absolute hell first thing last year. Never again.

Took 4-5 hours to get a bus on a boiling hot day with no water to be seen and a complete inability to manage the crowds.

It was bordering on being extremely dangerous.

ah no thats when i was thinking of going too
