Seetickets coaches - when do you get the Festival ticket in your hand?

Booked to leave on the 5am Wednesday Seetickets coach from the O2 Arena in London.

Now find that I might have to attend an interview on Wednesday or Friday (don't ask!!!!!!!!!!!)

Can I arrive at the O2, get onto the coach, get my admission ticket, get off the coach, go to the interview and make my own way to Somerset? Or do we not get the actual tickets until the coach has departed?

Never been on the coach but as I understand it the tickets are distributed on the journey to ensure people who book the coach get the coach. People have said that if you miss it the ticket is taken to the festival office and you can pick it up there but I'm not sure I'd want to risk it. You could try giving them a call to explain your issue.....

From what people have said on here previously it seems to vary from coach to coach and driver to driver.

In theory they are not supposed to distribute the tickets until you are already en route, but my experience of catching the coach from Taunton I have always been given the ticket as boarding the coach. I don't suppose there would be anything stopping you turning back round at that stage, but cant guarantee that its the same when catching a coach that is from a lot further away. Maybe other London coach people can tell you whats happened from there before. Certainly they shouldn't give them out before setting off but that's not been my experience

Last two years I've travelled by coach from Liverpool in '14 and Bristol last year and got given the tickets as we boarded the coach.

But obviously thats just my experience. Plenty of people say they didn't get theirs till half way at the services. As others have said depends on the driver

Thanks all - guess I'll have to either plead my case or hitch back from a service station.

I wouldn't rely on either..I've caught the crack of dawn coaches from London twice, and both times the tickets were given out half way there or once we were pretty much at Glasto (most people tend to fall asleep pretty quickly once settled), and I don't recall us stopping at services. We did on the way back, but I'm pretty sure it was a straight shot on the way there. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

My experience twice has been that the tickets were given out part way through the journey, in the case of one with a stop at the services they made sure it was after that.

Some folks have written in another thread or two that if you miss the coach they will leave your ticket at the box office at the gate, but if you ask seetickets in advance I think they always deny this.

Two questions:-

Were you due to travel with anyone?

Can they really not change the interview day?

If you say I've already booked to spend a few hundred quid going away that day that's surely a good enough reason?

If this particular company thought I was going to Glastonbury instead of turning up for the interview then my application would go straight in the bin.

Hopefully the interview will be on the Friday, so I can go and come back.

If you see someone on the coach wearing a suit and tie then its me :)

You don't have to be specific, feck em.

Can't you just say "I'm already booked to go away for a holiday on that period, is it possible to rearrange?"

Personally I'd just miss the coach and turn up at Gate A later in the day rather than try to mess around with coaches when I had an interview to prepare for.

They won't confirm it happens (presumably to stop people doing it en masse), and yeah there's a small element of risk that they change the procedure this year - but every year there's reports that people who missed a coach were able to pick up their ticket from the Enquiries cabin at Gate A later on. I suspect if anyone missed the coach and wasn't subsequently able to get in, then they'd have made quite a loud noise about it and we'd all know.

The only issue I'd be concerned about would be maybe having to wait for an hour or two, it can get quite busy.

This. If they want you to cancel a pre arranged and paid for holiday (which, at least in terms of planning and financial outlay, is essentially what Glastonbury is) to attend an interview that they could arrange so you don't have to do that, then I'd wonder what kind of employer they might be.....
