Steanbow farm lay-by

Hi,

In previous years, taxi's have been allowed to drop people off in a lay-by across from Steanbow farm near gate A. I remember reading in a previous traffic management plan that taxi's could drop-off there, coming from the west. Can't seem to find it now.

Does anybody know if this is the case again this year?

I'm not sure, but the post 2015 MDC report made quite a deal about the taxi arrangements and where they could stop.

It sounds very much like only MDC and SSDC (?) Castle Carey taxis can drop off in the Steanbow area (they specifically mention the Steanbow drop off point), and they're going to be policing this much more this year. So it will depend if you're going to be using a locally licensed taxi.

Thanks for this!

I've booked with a taxi company from Glastonbury that appear to be licensed by MDC. We're coming from Bristol airport on Wednesday morning, and it just seems like it will be so much easier to use the lay-by, rather than having to wait for a shuttle bus from the other drop-off point.

It might be worth giving them a call just to clarify the situation. Nothing worse than finding you've jumped in a taxi where the driver hasn't got the message and doesn't want to risk a ticket.

Have a great festival! :)
