Gate D barrier issue last year

I feel like Pablo

ok so I think I'm on if the only people who have worried about this but last year at gate D there was a horrible crush as rope barriers were used instead of metal and there were no security etc see my last post.

anyway, on the recommendation of another forum user I emailed Glastonbury and they replied with this. Hurray! gate D should be the dream this year.

see you all in 15 days! x

This is great news. I have used gate a for the last few years and it's been very well organised on the whole, even with arrivals coming in from the festival bus station. They have always used  lightweight metal barriers in the "snake" queue line to ensure that people can't rush up the hill by the Steanbow chicken sheds onto the road which runs up to the gate. It has always proved pretty effective.

From what you have said in other posts it does sound like there was a crowd control issue last year which they have hopefully addressed in the "loading plan" for this year. Hope it's all sorted for you and you have a great festival!
