It's exactly that. I love the BBC coverage but it does feel like they've got greedy in recent years. Every moment needs to be televised as if it was Eastenders or the World Cup.
Sounds like an arl arse prick tbh. And I say that as a fan. There are young people making music and the comms media are developing all the time around music. The BBC being a partner in an event that is (like it or not) a part of the UK cultural landscape is totally normal. Discussions around what that might look like for the millions watching around the world doesn’t seem too ridiculous.
I’d guess it’s over how much they want to show. In recent years there’s seems to be a big push by the Beeb to put pyramid headliners in prime slots on tv (not just iPlayer) the festival have probably told him we’re televising your full set and he’s walking away.
