but Herrera's hack-down of Hazard is always a yellow. He played the man; it was never an attempt to get the ball.

It was a yellow whether or not the ref had that chat beforehand.

The only get-out is that on most occasions most refs probably would have let that one go for someone already on a yellow - but because the ref would be giving a freebie from the rules, and not applying them strictly.

Its the stupidity of the tackle thats the issue. Its a yellow as a stand alone foul and a yellow for being thick. Shame as it ruined the game.

I honestly don't see that as a yellow in any other situation than directly after a foul on the same player (a player that was being fouled consistently). It wasn't a 'hack' in my eyes. I dislike this movement towards making every foul a yellow. For example the amount of yellows I see for standing on someone's foot milliseconds after the ball has gone - yes its a foul but those types of things are just part of football.

He had fouled hazard a couple of time before the yellow, just not immediately before. He was trying to protect hazard to an extent, which i agree with.

I'll say it again. Herrera committed two fouls the whole game. The off the ball block of Hazard being the other one - which fair enough I can accept being a yellow.

I would say though that Herrera's reaction to that first booking probably didnt do him any favours with the second. He really got in refs face (like he always does) and easily could have been given a second straight away for dissent (for me it was more deserving of a yellow than his second foul)

Like I said I'm not a fan of Herrera in the slightest. He is over dramatic with everything he does or is done to him, and like can be seen after his first booking is always moaning about some sort of injustice done to him. He is also a prime example of a player that is always attempting to get a player sent off. But in my opinion (and I accept others obviously think differently) he was harshly treated with that second yellow.

Both were cynical. No attempt to play the ball. Both yellows. One a block and one a trip.

I'd personally give Herrera a free pass on the first.

I think players often take the piss by running into a player and then claiming a block - which is closer to what happened than Herrera moving to block him.

Herrera did move, but only a little. The contact would have been almost as much if he'd done nothing.

Really? I can't say I was playing full attention, but that doesn't even sound like Herrera's normal game - cos he likes to take out a player - and he was defo in a more aggressive mood last night than his normal.

(mind you, even if it was just two 'all game', that 'all game' was about 25 minutes).

Players do that but he still moved towards Hazard. Took half a step towards him and nudged his shoulder into him. A cynical block. So a yellow.

Couple of outrageous saves from Dave last night.

Rojo could be in trouble for this.

Yeah 2 fouls in total. 1 being that off the ball 'shoulder block' - which I tend to agree with you is one of those strange footballing aspects that does massively favour the attacker. I do think the one last night was a foul though as there was a slight movement towards Hazard. But in general there are a lot of fouls given for that type of thing where the defender literally cannot do anything.

I didnt see this, I assume it was in the second half. Not a lot different to Mings (less force but seems more deliberate to me), should be a ban incoming if the FA are being consistent.

Looking at more positive aspects from last night - How good is Kante? Completely agree with Lamps last night saying he was probably the best centre midfielder in the world.

Also as an Arsenal fan I'm fairly happy with the draw last night. 2nd choice option is okay. And it's the best draw that could have happened for a North London final to come to pass.

They stole him off Leicester for 32m. Hes worth 70+. Once Herrera got sent off Utd hadn't a prayer.

Shame really as it was shaping up to be a good game. 2 teams playing 3-4-3.

Well, lecister paid 7 million for him, so a 25 million profit and one premiere league title is hardly 'stealing' :-)

He is an amazing player. Like having an extra man on the pitch.

Pogba was very anonymous.

When it comes to "best in the world" conversations I'm going to look for performances in big champions league games next season and the world cup.

I also do wonder how much non premiership world football lampard watches.

As with last seasons premiership they rode their luck (particularly first leg) but Sevilla in Europe is a tough ask, so they deserve a lot of credit.

I personally hope they get barca, real, bayern or Juve as they deserve that big match. However maybe Dortmund gives the best chance of semis. I just hope they don't get man city if they progress.

I didn't want Leicester to do well anymore this season after sacking Ranieri. But last night I realised I dislike Samir Nasri more than I disliked the decision to sack Ranieri so fair play to Leicester .

Who will they fancy next round?

Do those twats with the Wenger out banners turn up hoping they'll lose just so they can get them out?

It's time for Wenger to go, but the way some of their fans are treating him is disgraceful.

It is but he shouldve left after winning the FA Cup two years ago. They were so bad yesterday and tumbling down the table now with tough games coming up. City next.

Huge games today for top 4.
