Radiohead Headlining 2017

I remember Daydreaming being pretty fucking fantastic when I saw it live, but then that was at the Roundhouse surrounded by other diehard Radiohead fans and I was well on my way to being hammered. It definitely deserves a place in the Glastonbury setlist though and I still get chills whenever I think of it or hear it due to associating it with the big buildup towards the album/the fantastic music video/what the song is about, now more poignant than ever, which may even lead to tears from me.

Never seen it live so can't comment on how Thom is with it these days, but considering they played it at both their 1997 and 2003 headline performances and it's only an album track (not single) I'd say the chances of it being played this time 'round are slim, which is probably why it's being left off of people's predicted setlists rather than nobody liking it.

Aaaaah ok....well I'll keep my fingers crossed anyway. Although, as it's the first time I've seen them I probably shouldn{t be too picky :-D

What is it about, exactly?

Sorry should've said what the video is about (or at least references a lot), although the song may well be about it too, which is Thom's breakup with his girlfriend of 23 years (who then died in December of last year). Song probably doesn't have enough lyrics to be directly about it but I always associate it with the video which definitely hints towards it in a lot of ways, especially the backwards vocals at the end saying 'half of my life, half of my love'.

I realise there's not massive variations in a lot of these setlists, but here's my proposal

1. Burn The Witch
2. The Bends
3. There There
4. Ful Stop
5. Nude
6. Lotus Flower
7. No Surprises
8. Identikit
9. Myxomatosis
10. Reckoner
11. Present Tense
12. The National Anthem
13. How To Disappear Completely
14. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
15. Fake Plastic Trees
16. Paranoid Android
17. Street Spirit (Fade Out)

18. Daydreaming
19. Bodysnatchers
20. Pyramid Song
21. Everything In Its Right Place
22. Idioteque

23. Creep
24. Karma Police

He also walks through 23 doors in the video

Yep pretty personal stuff for a band like Radiohead. I imagine the song (and a lot of the album) has taken on a far sadder tone with Thom now (although he's thankfully seeing somebody now so at least there's that) #radioheadstalker

Well said, the release of the Daydreaming video was a big moment. It's difficult to say exactly what's so great about song and video, but both really are.

Yeah. I sort of feel we might see True Love Waits a fair amount in the encores on the upcoming tour, hopefully at Glastonbury. I read someone else mention that too, I dunno, not to take it too seriously but that's beyond the limit of how much personal life fans should know about imo.

Well I saw them do if at NOS in front of a 50,000 strong festival crowd and people were stood in awe. I was shocked how well it went over in that setting.

... Yeah, it's got my three or four must haves. I'll take that one.

Apparently according to someone on atease there is a brief article in an industry magazine (not in English) that there will be an impressive new production on this tour.  This would be most welcome - the light show on the KOL tour was superb and I think for headlining Glasto they would want something of similar standard.

Ah that's great news! Their stage show and visuals at Leeds '09 were incredible - hoping for something just as awe inspiring.

I was actually thinking it might go the other way, I can imagine songs like True Love Waits will be very difficult for Thom since the death, but aye as you say not really the nicest thing to be speculating about.

*Breaking list-related news*

OKC has just retaken the top spot from In Rainbows.

It's just a ridiculously phenomenal record. We're talking about two of the greatest records of all time, but the quality of OKC is just that smidgen higher across all of the tracks. Exit Music>Let Down>Karma Police is an extraordinary run of tracks, and the Airbag>Android might be the greatest opening salvo of all time.

The only song I tend to skip is Electioneering.

 I've done this too. Sit thru Fitter Happier and then Electioneering starts up and I'm like "nah". It's when the cowbell comes in as where you've gotta ask whether you're gonna stick it out or not. Not a bad song all in all but it could sit off the album.

It's not a good track.

Electioneering is better than subterranean homesick alien and the tourist.

It's so good they played it in a metal club I was out in the other week. It fit in perfectly between QOTSA and system of a down

I don't think that will convince two hats

Got a soft spot for Electioneering myself. Bit of a tune. Would like to see live, although perhaps it's a bit of w waste of a setlist spot at Glastonbury.

Having a bit of a Radiohead day today after reading this thread. I've never got round to doing my list, but OK Computer is probably top three for me, with The Bends and In Rainbows vying for the top spot.

AMSP isn't half-bad, though. I think I like it more with every listen.

In summary and in general:

1. The Bends

2. In Rainbows

3. OK Computer

4. Kid A

5. A Moon Shaped Pool

6 and 7. Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief - I never listen to them so not arsed which goes where.

8. King Of Limbs

9. Pablo Honey
