There There was a single from the album they were currently promoting, so if they were to do the same this time it'd be... Burn the Witch, and unless they've sorted it out live then I'd rather they didn't. They definitely seem to open with a new album song 90% of the time so outside of just going all out and banging out Paranoid Android from the get-go, I'm expecting similar.

Not long until their tour starts anyway so that'll be a good indicator.

Yeh I know, you're right and that's the likely outcome. I know There There was due to the tour, I just meant I'd love a song of that stature to open it.

I know I won't be able to do it, but I wanted to try and avoid seeing any setlists leading up to Glasto. How on earth I managed it for Arctics I'll never know.

Towards the end of the tour they'd dropped that down to 3 (BTW, Daydreaming and Ful Stop), can't see them doing anything but reduce that down again this year.

As sure as I am they'll open with BTW I'm just as sure they won't stick to the AMSP heavy opening.

I just want them to play all the big songs at Glastonbury - a proper crowd pleaser of a set. The entire field was up for that Coldplay gig last year, and if Radiohead can get close to that, it would be ace.

If I then get Where I End and You Begin at Manchester, I'll be very satisfied.

For those that feel that BTW isn't strong live (ie everyone it seems), is the issue to you the intro/parts that are supposed to have the violin or whatever it is, or do you think the whole thing is just lacking?

The intro and verse sections are just so underwhelming. I don't mind the chorus with the heavy power chords, but aside from that it's just really disappointing. I don't think necessarily think they need strings, but Jonny trying to play his guitar as a violin just doesn't work. It needs more presence.

Compare it to their '03 set when they came out to There There for example.

I know I'm a bit of a doubter but I've never stooped as low as

"if only Radiohead could be as good as Coldplay."

Run for your life, Lubic, they'll hunt you down!

Haha. Christ, what have I done!

Seriously though, the crowd was a big part of why Coldplay were so good, and while I've loved Radiohead everytime I've seen them, it's never really been because of the crowd. I want singalongs from start to finish!

Maybe they could all bow. The band does have three guitarists after all.

My guess for a set list would be:

  1. Burn the Witch
  2. Daydreaming
  3. Ful Stop
  4. Lucky
  5. The National Anthem
  6. 15 Step
  7. Lotus Flower
  8. Either:  Where I End and You Begin or (more likely) Exit Music (For A Film)
  9. No Surprises
  10. Identikit
  11. The Numbers
  12. Creep
  13. Fake Plastic Trees
  14. Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi
  15. Everything in Its Right Place
  16. Idioteque
  17. Bodysnatchers
  18. 2 + 2 = 5
  19. There There
  20. Bloom
  21. Present Tense
  22. Pyramid Song
  23. Street Spirit (Fade Out)
  24. Karma Police

Now I know there's no The Gloaming, but I think it has a good mix.

Also assuming the fact that the opening AMSP section stays in for this part of the tour.

At least one song from each album and 6 from AMSP which is reasonable to expect. Mostly hits, but missing some OKC tracks that people here want admittedly.

It would be good to have an official/reliable way to stream the gigs, like pay £5 for an official stream. Maybe they would see it as ditracting from the live then and there elements of gigs.  They were ahead of the curve with their websites and the webcasts, but don't seem to do that kind of thing anymore

OK so after listening to OK computer kid a and in rainbows back to back this afternoon I've realised I'll probably enjoy this if I watch them.

Gonna have to listen to a moon shaped pool now just in case....

Have you already listened to The Bends or are you saving the best til last? :)

There There as an opener was utterly hair raising. Difficult to think of what they could open with that has that sort of impact - maybe Climbing Up the Walls?Need to watch that set again soon.

Burn the Witch is an excellent song in my opinion and i'm actually quite disappointed to hear that its been disappointing live. That being said even if played well, it's a poor choice for an opening song.

I've watched it so many times. Seen them twice - once when I was only 'just' into them so couldn't fully appreciate it, and then later when I adored them but I took the wreckedness too far, can remember Karma Police. That's it.

So I've spent years of drink-fuelled nights with the earphones listening to that set, praying that they'd play at Glastonbury again. Bostin!

There There is an absolute piss take of an opener, it's arguably unbeatable.

I think Airbag or Lucky would be immense. Lucky especially as it's so atmospheric, so it could then go into something more up-tempo. Like There There went into 2+2.

Shit on toast, I bet that was terrible to hear...:o

I'm gonna go tits if they play 2+2! Agree that Lucky would be pretty spectacular as well - the crowd would be in the palm of the evil bear's paw.

Alcohol is the thing that could potentially screw my experience on Friday 23rd. I'm going to need a rigid cut off for beer drinking then have a hip flask to sup on so I can go the distance without toilet trips. Never a bad thing when you're relying on the toilet provision at the pyramid
