Had to look that up as I've never listened to the full podcast. I may have to remedy this. 1 hour ago, stuartbert two hats said: If I remember rightly, the phrase "NFR NFC" was coined in the summer of 2010, just as the Azores Finger thrust up into Somerset. That sounds too disgusting to even count as a Finbarr.
fatyeti24
i don't do festivals. not really. i go to Glastonbury but that's more like a city break.. last year i also did Larmer Tree. tonight we're off to Knockan Stockan, festival #2 in a 3 festival season! woo! really looking forward to it 6 hours ago, MrZigster said: This isn't going to be popular: Can we nix this thread please? We haven't had a dry one since these NFR NFC threads became an annual thing, and I think the weather gods may not like them. right-o

The last couple of years we've had Common People here, but it's not camping so doesn't really count. I'd do more if I could afford it I think! djdavejohnson
I'm off out to see some local talent tonight It's the penultimate weekend before the only decent venue in my town that showcases local music potentially closes it's doors. Owners have sold up, and no buyer as yet. Aiming to make the most of it!
stuartbert two hats
Gutted about not getting tickets to Blue Dot festival tonight (Jodrell Bank). Public Service Broadcasting look amazing with a big fuck off radio telescope in the background.

djdavejohnson
Right so I think I'm almost there with this Finbarr stuff. You'll have to forgive me one more time but one more thing - I'm guessing the Finbarr spotter deserves praise for his Finbarr spotting talents? Maybe even possibly from the person who's been Finbarred? How about the person who committed the Finbarr? Is it a good thing to be Finbarred or a shameful act?! I normally grasp things pretty quickly but this is taking a while! I've obviously misunderstood my level of intellect!

Yes unplanned nights out are ace. Popped into a mates for a brew but she was in the pub so that is where I ended up! I'm thinking about getting out of bed I have received my Stanley Donwood Ltd edition Glastonbury print. It is a thing of beauty. I need to find a reputable framer place to erm... Frame it. It's definitely not shameful - and if an accident then you can't claim praise, surely. Maybe you're too intellectual for this base crass tomfoolery. Right I think I'm there, ta! djdavejohnson
Soooooooooo... it's another corker here today in Essex. I'm out doing some shopping, coffee drinking, reading. Soaking up some sun before a mates birthday tonight. I have a week off work next week and I'm trying to decide what to do. Hmmm...
Quark
Glad everyone sounds well today. Scorcher down in Sussex, so out in the garden with Mrs Q. Garden furniture getting sanded and painted, grape vine is tended and looking pretty loaded with fruit, and hanging baskets about to be planted. And all to the summer sounds of War On Drugs (now officially addicted to that album Scruff) and Protoje. I think a beer and perhaps something else may be in order

I've been meaning to have a proper listen to Protoje, and was meant to catch them at the fest, but alas the mud prevented that from happening. Curlygirl
So I've been looking at other festival threads just incase I fancy another 'big' one... They're all pretty negative. Just proves to me that Glastonbury is and will always be the best place in earth! I'm really nervous about not getting tickets next year so was looking for alternatives around the same time and a bit more local to me. I like Kendall calling but it's nowhere near Glastonbury. Anywhere you lovely lot can recommend? I love the randomness of Glastonbury.

Watching this thread, as I'm also trying to get ideas as quite sure we won't get tickets this year, luck has to run out Sziget is looking favourable, only because it's the right time of the year. Pretty guaranteed great weather, can explore Budapest at the same time , and it works probably cost less after we hire a camper etc for glasto .... With your ticket you get free city / transport passes and all sorts
