So I've been looking at other festival threads just incase I fancy another 'big' one... They're all pretty negative. Just proves to me that Glastonbury is and will always be the best place in earth! I'm really nervous about not getting tickets next year so was looking for alternatives around the same time and a bit more local to me. I like Kendall calling but it's nowhere near Glastonbury. Anywhere you lovely lot can recommend? I love the randomness of Glastonbury.

someone we know is doing Sziget and his review will appear sometime afterwards on e fest. We will see how it went then.

CG - Boomtown is probably the other big festival (had to re-word that bit in case the finbar police are watching) that you are looking for. Up to 60,000 this year I am told.  It is properly full on and we are looking forward to the madness starting in a couple of weeks.

Afternoon pop pickers! I have just got up, went to a "reunion"night last night for thre or four alternative clubs we used to have. I knew rather a lot of people, it was great! I expressed myself via the medium of dance a lot, especially in the goth room! Got home at 8ish aft going back to a friends. I don't think I feel too bad, but I'm not sure! Watching bill and ted on to to help :)

Hi all, hope we are enjoying the summer weather?

I have attempted to make my first ever Glastonbury video. It's pretty poor as I kept forgetting that I had my GoPro with me! Thought I would share, just incase people are still feeling the Glastonbury blues

Two thumbs up from me! Love seeing that kind of footage of other peoples' experiences

I brought one at the festival, very excitedly. Carried the tube around with me the whole day on the Thursday, loving checked it in the tent daily. Went and left it on the coach after the journey home. Brought another though (phew!) just need to get a frame and pop it up in my living room.

Thanks for the comments on the video - I need to remember to do the journey side of things a little more, going to take my GoPro to New York with me and be an annoying tourist!

Where did you buy it at the festival? I bought a limited edition one from the glasto site. Didn't know they were for sale generically! x

Glastonbury Free Press, they had a shop in the tent - had some pretty nice prints. Didn't matter in the end - I left it behind (I think, I won't be shocked if I find it once I've put this on in a frame)

I was quite impressed that I managed to lug my GFP poster round the site all of Sunday in the pissing rain and keep it dry.  Also not framed yet.

Loved the video SL.  Was that John Grant singing GMF at the John Peel?

Morning all, hope everybody had a fantastic weekend!

I have some spare days holiday to take so I have decided to take them this week. A week of actual relaxation(ish).

No mud! :)

But no live music or beer either :(

Off to visit my Nan and Great Nan today (the latter's doing awesome as she approaches one whole century!).

Good day to you all.

I didn't know there was a shop attached. I've only ever seen the queue so not bothered going in.

Ooh you should go in and have a look at the old press, it's a 1950's Heidelberg, and is really rather lovely. Really good to watch in action! I'm a bit biased as I work in print, and ny Dad did forever too, but it really is worth a look if it's not too busy.

Great, thanks a lot Lucy.  Something else to add to the never ending list of stuff I need to see at Glastonbury!

I might have to go for a Dr Ben style itinerary next year!

It really is good to watch! Pop it on the list!

I know what you mean about the itinerary, I think I might have to do that one year too!

Yes! Loved John Grant and was impressed he played when he seemed so unwell.

Wasn't he great though, still able to use that wonderful voice despite the flu.  By the end it felt like the crowd was carrying him on a tide of goodwill.  Saw him at Latitude and he was clearly recovered and really enjoying himself.

I had a Glastonbury moment when he sang 'I am the greatest motherfucker that you're ever gonna meet'! Such a wonderful song!! Love him

Hi! Sun trying to shine here today :)

Not much else to report really, my shoulder/arm nervy bit still hurts but I'm getting better! My ribs are so much better than they were. Phew.

Concert is a week on sunday so I need to be better!

Hope everyone has a nice Tuesday :)

Glad the ribs are getting better Lucy.  And a happy Tuesday to all indeed.

Thinking a bit laterally about our praising of the weather gods, and I'm taking a bit of a left turn.  We can praise the sun gods all we want, but if the clouds come in front of them, well there's not much they can do.

So I shall be extending praise to the other weather gods in the hope that they'll leave us in peace for June.  So today we have Thor, Norse God of Thunder!

Nice one Lucy, fingers crossed all is well for the concert :)

I thought mine was making good progress, but had a minor set back yesterday. Nothing major, just hurting a bit after not really hurting at all for 2/3 days. Still a good couple of weeks from even attempting exercise, and probably a month or so before I'm back on the squash court, but spirits remain high!
