Nice yeti.  Had to pick the year when Levs headlined didn't you?! ;)

I need to have a look at my reviews from when I started going.  I know that so much has changed from 2009 but I'm damned if I can remember them all! No idea why...

We need a Thingy-like list of all the changes every year.

it'll be of no consolation, but i can't remember who i saw headline the friday night that year.  i know i didn't stray too far from the Pyramid or Other (nee NME), but i have no memories of the Levs or the Manics who i think were the respective headliners.

Saturday i saw Bjork then hung around for Orbital on my step brother's recommendation (a wise move as it transpired) and Sunday i passed out in my tent in Big Ground after eating a special cake and awoke to the sounds of Peter Gabriel headlining the Pyramid.  Given my age and tastes at the time, this was not welcome!

Fine by me!  Has the Other field layout changed?  I seem to remember you saying something about a different bridge back then?

the bridge from Holts (opposite where Leftfield is now) into Other has been widened considerably and back then that used to be the main (possibly only) way in and out of the Other field.  there were scary crushes.  there was nothing to the west of the Pyramid or Other and that 94 photo basically crops at the fence.

The Other stage moved position in 94, previously it used to be down in the corner so it faced diagonally across the field towards the Glade.  I have video footage from a helicopter at the 93 festival that shows this. (incidentally, the helicopter takes off and lands from interstage - not so these days eh?)

what they have done all over the site is increased shop frontage.  it makes sense to have more traders as there's more people and they generate more money.  an obvious example of this is compare where the stage is in the Other field in 94 to now.  back then it's pushed back against the hedge, now it's more or less in the middle of the field, with lots of traders along the sides.  essentially the field 'feels' the same but there's a lot more in there these days - and of course there's no camping in there now at the back against the railway.

The Pyramid is also in its old position in that photo, facing straight up the field.

Shangers started in 2009.  2008 was Trash City.

Apparently not.

Shangri-La was 2008. Your memory is faulty Mr Yeti, I distinctly remember the whole of the SE corner being generally known as Shangri-La back then, even if that wasn't accurate.

And I didn't realise this, but Trash City was actually there in 2007.

ah ok fair dos, and apologies to Mr Scruff! Trash City sort of morphed into Block 9 didn't it?  NYC Downlow was in Trash City, as was Arcadia in 2008 if i remember.

Yeah, in fact I've only just realised that Trash City isn't there any more!  NYC Downlow seems to have moved over:

Was there ever a year with both, or did it just change one year?

Looks like my memory is better than my reading comprehension.

I'm pretty bad on all fronts.

I definitely remember Arcadia being down in the SE corner when I first went in 09. BBC Introducing was still up in the Park I think?  WH was still Jazz World.

Well I'm confused, I don't know about you lot!

I think to summarise: Some things were there and aren't now, some things are there now but weren't before. Some things have moved.

How's that? :)

Done and done!

In all honesty I think that I'm so mashed half the time that I can't remember where stuff is while I'm there, so if things move from one year to another I just assume that's where they were before
