I had to have a word with myself on the Saturday this year as I was feeling a it rubbish- my ribs hurt from falling, I hurt from walking, I was tired, hungry, and just wanted to sit down. So I went to find somewhere to eat, found somewhere with seats, had a crepe and some homemade lemonade (lovely!), chatted to a chap that seemed to be in a similar situation, had a word with myself about manning the fuck up, manned up, had a fag, then went on my merry way and had a lovely sing song at Will Young before going to meet my mates. It's all about attitude!

Had the same thing in 2015.  Couple of guys in the group were really trying to put everyone on an itinerary and as soon as you sat down they were off again.  So I quietly slipped away to the Tiny Tea Tent, cup of the good stuff, piece of carrot cake and a smoke, then lay down in the sun for the second half of Gregory Porter at WH.  And all was right with the world.

Actually that's a recurring theme!  2010 everyone wanted to watch the football so I tagged along and left after about half an hour because it was all just horrible.  Again, tea cake and smoke, but this time outside the acoustic for London Community Gospel Choir!

I'm sure there's an interesting philosophical discussion to be had here about ephemeral experiences, but unfortunately it's Friday afternoon and I'm knackered.

Even though when you checked the box the cat was alive, did the other cat suffer before the probability waves collapsed?

Deep.

If Mumford and Sons play, but nobody goes to see them, are they still shit?

Quite possibly.

I was thinking in terms of the festivalgoer simultaneously having both an amazing time because it's Glastonbury but at the same time having a shit time because of the weather. Or because they're watching Mumford & Sons.

Did the same one night this year Lucy - was feeling a bit 'fed up' - although in hindsight have no idea why, probably as i felt as if I ws traising along following everyone, anyway took myself off to Acoustic for a couple of hours, watched tha Hothouse flowers and gave myself a good talking to... had a bloody marvellous time and all was right with the world again :-)

one year, 98 i think when it was very wet, i retreated to my tent for shelter.  i was camped in Row Mead and could just about sit in the front of my tent and watch the Pyramid.  anyway, i did some acid and then realised the rain was getting in through the bomb burns in the floor of my tent.  i managed to stem the flow with worn clothes but couldn't for the life of me work out if i was happy i'd  fixed the problem, or if i was unhappy to be in that situation in the first place.

i haven't touched acid in a long time.

There's a lot to be said for the "have a word with yourself" attitude. Looks like we've all done it and got over it and had a lovely time! Apart from yeti's acid experience. Precisely why I haven't touched it in years too. It's too fickle.

there was a small part of me this year that thought, should the weather be nice, i could be up for doing a trip again.  that didn't come to pass.

Every year I consider mushrooms, then I never seem to be in the right mood or whatever. Maybe one year. It's just a big chunk of the day gone if it goes sideways! I'll probably continue to stick with what I know. Although Sunday night this year had its moments, and I wa sticking to what I knew!

It happens to me at least once a year. Sometimes it's gone in minutes. Sometimes it takes an hour or two lying on my own up by the sign or in permaculture with my eyes shut. Never an issue and now I recognise it it's easier to deal with

Gosh arent we grown up! Quick, do something silly!

Thanks! I think I'm ok!

Erm, HMV and yeti have turned into the same person. I have almost run out of gin. Those two statements may or may not be related.

You should've seen them on the Thursday evening of glasto. Sickening, it was, glitter everywhere. I'm still in therapy.

You were looking fairly sideways when we bumped into you at EW&F! Still great to chat with you and Wellyboot, though! :)
