Unfortunately the gulls haven't taken long to notice the nice new outdoor dining area, and nicked half my lunch!

That's fighting behaviour for me Dizzy!!

Just got back from a 2 hour walk up on the downs, about to do a nice mezze dinner outside with, I think, a rum and ginger to round off the weekend :)

Not quite! Fiery ginger beer instead of coke, and a sprig of mint if you're feeling sophisticated. Which, obviously, I am ;)

Ooo get you :-) dark and stormys are rum and ginger but not fiery (whatever that is ) and defo not the Mint .... Interesting and one to try next weekend :-)

Ah my error - I'd always known D&S as rum & cokes!  I'll get back in my box :)

By fiery I mean the stuff like Old Jamaica ginger beer that's got a bit of kick to it, rather than ginger ale.  I'm hooked on Red Leg spiced rum with it as well, has more vanilla to it than Sailor Jerry.  If you're feeling really swish, a little splash of apple juice along with the mint is good too.

Not that I've given this much thought or anything...

Hi @tommywillo I don't believe we've conversed yet, I hope you had a great festival!

Not October yet but we are into August! Seriously, where is the time going?

My first day back at work today and I've been working on pensions all day. Massive bleugh!

Doing my first bit of exercise in almost a month shortly, and hoping the shoulder holds up. Fingers crossed :)

Rum and coke = Cuba libre

Rum and ginger = dark and stormy. I like to splash a dash of angostura bitters in there as well. And none of that spiced rum shite. Proper dark rum with lots of lime.

I'll stand corrected on the preferred nomenclature; not going to argue with your booze knowledge HMV! ;)

However I am going to stand up for a good spiced rum. I do like a dark (brought a nice bottle of 12 year Appletons back from Jamaica :P ) but spiced and ginger in the sunshine, heaven!

It's always quiet once everyone's reviewed Glastonbury and gone on holiday. The tourists will be around next month for advise on getting tickets then it'll be manic for a few weeks  before the winter death just after T day.

There was a timeline year thingy a couple of years ago wasn't there? I'm sure someone clever can find it!

Morning all, btw. I put up some pics from the festival last night onto FB, they're @Wellyboots pics, I havent put mine up yet! I'll see if I can post some here later this week, bit busy til friday!

HMV, thanks for clarification, that makes sense now! :)

Now if I'd seen some of these pics before GF I might have found some of you at Croissant Neuf!! :(

For anyone remotely as soft as I am, BBC have reported that Viola Beach's album is on the way to number 1 this Friday.  If you've not already downloaded it or streamed it, let's keep it going and give them a number 1 slot :)

I couldn't find anyone at CN and I've met half of you before!!! Next time, Quark, next time. All hail the ticket gods! And the weather gods!

I don't think I have heard any of their music but I will investigate, what a lovely thing to do :)

Apparently their families pulled together the material that was completed (originally intended for EPs and B-sides I think) and put it out as a full album so they had a posthumous release.

It's actually really good.  Definitely a first album / early effort, but can see why they were tipped for big things.

And damn right next time :yahoo:

Not that I've given this much thought or anything...

I was working in bermuda in June - the birthplace of the Dark n stormy, so drank far too many of them, along with Dark and very stormy

Always ice first, then ginger beer, then Goslings dark rum and a wedge of lime

Frozen and particularly good sat on a beach, and dark and very stormys are lethal (alcoholic ginger beer with the rum)

I love them and no hangover :-)

Good stuff! It was my best festival yet too - for me 2013 still leads with what I consider the 'best top sets' I have seen so far (The Rolling Stones, Chic etc.), whereas this year came close with Adele and Coldplay delivering but overall there was a lot more I wanted to see generally, if that makes sense.

It was my first day back after having last week off - been back since a day after the festival. Would have been great though if yesterday was actually my first day back!

Shoulder-wise I made that exact mistake initially, so have waited a few weeks and only starting out on jogs for a bit. If it holds up (which it did last night) for 2-3 weeks then I'll consider gym and squash again, but only once I'm as sure as I can be that it's properly rested etc. I definitely don't want the pain of re-tearing the muscle again!
