Just thought I'd pop in and say...

NFR NFC!!!

Love the sentiment, but this does add weight to Caledonian Gonzo's theory that this thread is just made up of people shouting "NFR NFC!" at each other

Sunny day here.  All things being well I shall make it down to the nature reserve near the office at lunch for my 10 minute meditation session.  My brother swears by it, and God knows I need to do something to get my stress levels under control :D

Gorgeous day. Took lunch down the nature reserve near the office and sat in the sun with feet dangling over the stream. Bit of a wander and found a perfect spot in the meadow under a tree for 10 minutes meditation. Couldn't have found a nicer spot.

Never really bought into the whole meditation thing before, but now more than ever I'm all for finding whatever moments of peace are available during the day.

Sunny thoughts everyone :)

Hi Quark! What a lovely view :)

I've never really got meditation. I can't switch off. It just won't happen. Any tips?

Crikey it's lovely and sunny here! Blue sky all round!

I've downloaded the free Headspace app.   Takes you through 10 minute sessions to start getting used to the techniques. It's been a good starting point for me.

I'll whisper this so the glorious sun can't hear me, wouldn't want her to get scared and run away but:

imagine if we had 2010 weather...just imagine :yahoo: :yahoo::yahoo:

I'm afraid I'm a wuss and will  be burned as a heretic on this thread.  My car's aircon isn't working and I got home yesterday afternoon suffering mild heatstroke after being stuck in traffic on a road with no shade.  It's possible I'm too well-insulated and need to eat less cake.  That feels like too great a sacrifice.

I'm burned as heretic by the sun :D Had a 5min cig break yesterday and my arms went bright red...its ludicrous but just for you guys on this thread I'll suck it up and wear factor 50

Stuck in a car in heat is bloody awful, did you not have any water or anything?

I too am very well insulted, sweated like a whore in church all day in the kitchen today, then came home and ate cake.....it was good cake though :D

Youngest had finished the water, and we were both suffering.  We had all the windows down and there was a breeze, but it had zero cooling effect.  Once recovered I also ate yummy cake - carrot cake so that must be one of my 5 a day?

I've just noticed you wrote that you're very well insulted!  @Scruffylovemonster is here all week...

Hi all, I hope you're all enjoying this lovely weather. 32 degrees when I left work today, most unusual but delightful nonetheless. I've 25 people coming for curry on Saturday before our tiny little local music festival and a houseful of family staying the weekend. One of the currys I'm making is trout and coconut, I have a freezer full of trout given to me by a friend who does a lot of fishing. If any of you have used trout in a curry I'd welcome your thoughts :) preferably before Saturday lol. Wonder what you'll all be doing 4 weeks tonight :):)

I've not used trout in curry, but it's generally quite a delicate fish so if it's going in a sauce I'd certainly only add it right at the end.

Alternative would be to spice rub and bake it in foil if you're cooking for loads, then pour sauce over it?

@naughtygeorgie is the chef, sure she's got some ideas!

I hadn't thought of baking it, that might work quite well and it would be easier to remove the skin if I baked it first. Thank you :)
