Wasn't that the advice Steve Irwin's wife gave him one morning as he set off to work?

No that was sting rays ... manta rays are totally harmless and amazing and off the scale. I did a liveaboard diving last year in Raja Ampat studying Manta rays as they travel huge distances so are trying to draw up a database of them, each manta ray is unique as their marking etc identify them

Not sure there are any/many manta;s in Barbados, however there are turtles

@Curlygirl what an amazing trip. I've been to Barbados twice.. its cool. If you want a really special meal and want to celebrate your birthdays book a table at The Cliff - its still the best restaurant I';ve ever been to. beautiful view, I gasped when i saw it, and just stunning, and the chef is/was a scouser and lovely

And my money was on yeti or Stu to be the pedant. :P

I nearly went back and added a disclaimer to that effect but decided I'd see how long it took. Wasn't expecting it to be over a day and a half to be fair.

I hadn't noticed, I was going to make the same comment about Irwin that you made. With regards to Manta Rays being totally harmless, that's probably what Irwin said to camera about stingrays just before he went underwater.

Yeah, but he used to say vipers were totally safe, the madman.

A group of us once played I-Spy in a car journey back to Guildford from a stag weekend in Gloucester, mainly because we were worried about the driver falling asleep.  I challenged them to find something beginning with V; 30 minutes later and no joy.

When we got out of the car I was severely beaten for the use of "vindscreen vipers".  True story.

Afternoon! I survived my concert! It was good fun :)

It was very sunny and warm in the afternoon, factor 50 every 4 minutes! (ok not quite, but almost)

Glad you had a good time and survived unfrazzled!#

Yeti - you're a terrible person :D

Afternoon all :)

I'm currently sat in a field overlooking the sea. Had some very nice bread from the on site bakery, along with some of my homemade cheese, for lunch a little while ago. Shortly I'll be getting the campfire going so that I can start cooking sausage and bean casserole for later, before opening a cheeky little Sauvignon Blanc. Not a bad way to spend a day! :)

ha ha brilliant, sorry it took so long, I've not read this thread for a few days ... all I want to add is think how you would feel if you were a harmless bubble loving manta, and you got tarred with the stingray brush all time ;-)

Hey FF, I haven't read much about manta rays either, but I'm happy to look for them. I will be going out on a catamaran to swim with the turtles, can't wait!!

As for The Cliff, any idea where it is? We are staying at Mango Beach resort at Holetown. Is it near?

I am super excited! It's took up all of my savings but hey, holiday of a lifetime.

In other news, I got my Stanley Donwood print back from the framers today. It looks fab! Waiting for the father to fix it to the wall as I live in the house that Jack built and I really don't want it to fall down. I love it more than anything else... Apart from Jess that @Yoghurt on a Stick Made me.

Hello Curlygirl.

Really happy to hear that the head  art still pleases you. I'm currently working on a lamp shade, which is a bit different to one that you'd get on the High Street. To put it mildly! Hope you are well. :)

I am as fabulous as ever Thankyou Yog! Jess will please me forever! She is awesome. My mum still sends me pictures of her head! My mate also loves her. Can you put a picture up of your lampshade?? Not all of your art is to my liking ( I googled you and found a few pieces! ) but I do love the heads!! My Stan Donwood print will be right next to Jess. It makes me happy to look at them together x
