They've gone into administration Scruff. There's stuff on moneysavingexpert.com with advice for people who've booked with them. Hopefully it'll be fine. Fingers crossed buddy

It happens Scruff, just one of them unfortunate things! I've called the hotel but they're saying they can't confirm if they received payment until Monday. Annoying as I just want to get things sorted.

I tried to chat to my brother a little while ago (see above) - let's just say despite a gentle approach he didn't take it too well. Think he's calmed down now though. Hate stressful situations

Take me back to the farm.

Evening all... And especially Belemus!!! 

Just looked at the Kendall Weather thread... 291mm of the not dry stuff on the Friday! Surely that cannot be possible. I hope they've missed out a decimal point there! Willing to make sacrifices but really!!! Come on!

Oh, and in other news, I've bought another tent!!! Love a bit of tent porn!!

Well I spent all day today sat outside in the sunshine, while Mr Ginger did a skydive! He loved it! I didn't apply factor 50 enough, and am now rather red in places, and clashing with my own hair! Oops! Does that count towards pleasing the sun gods? I hope so! Ouch!

Wow that's amazing! I'd love to do one but not sure I'd ever get the courage required. Never say never though.

Tomorrow should be moment of truth day. I know flights are fine so that's something. Fingers crossed on the hotel, if no good news then we'll have to pay for them again and then try to claim the money back on the original, lost, payment. Any news @Scruffylovemonster?

Ah well. Annoying, but one of them things. Much bigger and more dreadful things going on in the world.

Amsterdam and Thailand are unaffected, the sun has finally made a decent appearance so all in all I'm pretty

Coleman Cortes 6. It's only 2000HH But I can proof it. Not that I'll need it... Next year will be a repeat of 2010!!

It's the Lake District CurlyGirl, absolutely anything is possible! Especially since summer was on a Tuesday this year! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful festival, have you been before?

Pissed and stargazing sounds lovely!! I spent the evening last night laying on the sofa watching the Proms. Very nice. 

Still looking into this Skye holiday, I need someone to organise it for me! And pay for it!

Thanks! I certainly will! Think we're going to just book each bit separately- plane, train, car hire, accomodation etc. It's just a bit of a pain working out times of flight then co-ordinating it with train times etc. I need to write it all down! And avoid lowcostholidays.com. Definitely.

Makes sense, that's what I usually do. Bit of a pain coordinating but usually cheaper and more flexible. Good luck!

It is a bit tricky but will be worth it! I think there needs to be lots of writing down of dates and times etc, I'm confused! I've had a couple of quotes for car hire too, I have never hired a car before and event hat is a minefield! I need a lie down!

It can all be a bit daunting! Sounds like you're doing the right thing though - and if it all gets a bit too much then a lie down sounds good. In he sun, preferably

In general I find that lying down in the sun for a bit can solve a lot of problems.  Particularly if accompanied by cold cider / spiced rum & ginger / gin & tonic

Yeah the general consensus I've seen is a lot of hotel staff have been like that. I mean who can blame them - the great weather all year round may have something to do with that!

Sounds like a plan, and fingers crossed for you. My bro is sorting bits out today, should know within the next couple of hours where we stand. I know that he has spoken to the bank and they are sending out a claim form to my Nan, so that's kinda promising, although not holding much hope either for any real solution.

Yeah I saw that, went on the website and it's all in Spanish (not sure I was expecting anything less). Translated the pages etc. but doesn't seem very obvious what you're supposed to do. Hoping Martin Lewis updates that article today!
